From TSN

TRADE RUMOURS
- The Columbus Dispatch, noting the desperate need for a Blue Jackets power play quarterback, runs off a list of possibilities, including Pittsburgh's Ryan Whitney, Kris Letang or Alex Goligoski, Toronto's Pavel Kubina (who has a limited no-trade clause), Vancouver's Kevin Bieska, Florida's Jay Bouwmeester, Los Angeles' Tom Preissing and Carolina's Joe Corvo.

I'd be OK with one of those guys for rick nash...even trade. LOL.

ISmellSexandFreeCandy said...

I heard it was Hossa coming back to get that box of extra small Trojans he forgot.

gretzkysucks said...

Right, I'm sure Columbus would give up their best player. And these trade rumors are almost always bullshit anyway.

Jagrmeister said...

Rick Nash leaving the Blue Jackets? Yeah and let's ask the Rangers if we can trade Sabu for Henrik because its obviously a possibility ...

All those players listed are basically not reachable right now. Why do people post dumbass trade rumors?

ISmellSexandFreeCandy said...

No way the Jackets would trade Nash right now...they're starting to gel a little bit and taking him outta there would be like taking the whole bottom of your Jenga tower out.

I think kstewy was being sarcastic? Maybe just a bit?

No, couldn't be. Everyone would've picked up on it. Really.

anyway, i hope you guys are being careful & get home safe. whenever it ices up down here most places close and the news tells us repeatedly to stay home since there really is no where to go. of course many people don't listen and darwinism goes into affect.

From last post cause I suck-

"Could someone give me a quick summary of this whole sykora / chinchilla thing for me? I feel as if I'm missing something. Like, I can infer that he owned a chichilla at one point, but was there a funny story about it? Maybe it dosent help me that I have no idea what exactly a chinchilla is :("

And @ ismellsexandfreecandy- your name is money

Allison said...

@akus- I stopped reading that article after it said the nucks "chanced" lundqvist. Pretty sure they meant chased.

And also @ ismellsexandfreecandy- I live around the corner from the lead singer's ex wife and I'm compelled to blast marcy's playground everytime I drive by her house... Is that mean? Lol

allison a chinchilla is a type of rodent that can either be a pet or a coat.

this story comes during his time in Anaheim, so a bit dated:

"Despite earning $3,535,000 US this season, Sykora remains single. But he doesn’t come home to an empty place. He brought his pet chinchilla P.J. along from New Jersey. One advantage of the cute rodent is that it doesn’t require supervision when Sykora is travelling, and it may even do double duty guarding the house.

“I’ve got a new Doberman, and the dog is scared of the little P.J.,” Sykora grinned. “He’s still the man of the house!”"

there was also a story of PJ running away once, but returned home after a few days.

guess its just one of those feel good stories i caught on to and ran with it

debrisslide said...

Plus, Petr Sykora essentially is a human chinchilla. Don't forget that part.

That Potash photoshop in the previous post is unreal. Couldn't comment earlier cause the Pensblog isn't updating at work for some reason. I have the recap from the Wild game as the most recent post. Anyone have any idea why that might be happening?

This is my favorite story, ever.

"Imagine Petr Sykora's distress when his chinchilla ran away from home for five days.[...]Sykora didn't give his chinchilla, P.J., much of a chance after it ran away from his West Orange home. But P.J. was apparently part homing pigeon.

"All the guys have dogs," Sykora said. "I wanted to have a dog, but I have to leave it alone at times. So I got a chinchilla. Last year I forgot to close the door to his cage one day during the summer. He went out of the cage and was gone for five days. I thought I had lost him" But Sykora never lost hope. He kept the door to P.J.'s cage open, as well as his door while he was home."One day he actually came back to his cage," Sykora said. "He was pretty beat up and skinny, but I was excited because I really missed him. I thought he would be dead. He's a great pet. They sleep during the day and they're up at night. I let him wander around the room. It's nice to have someone to play with when you get home. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and he's beside me sleeping."

Just another boy and his Chinchilla.

Asked about his friend's pet, teammate Patrik Elias responded: "The rat? It's like, what, a ferret? It has nice soft fur, but it's a strange pet. He's a strange guy, too."
