This would work just as well if used as a PSA announcing the evils of little boys getting into cars with men who aren't their fathers.

A creepy, subtle underbelly to the whole production.

Ah, the 80s...

Whoa thats fancy ass Blazer!

I wish I could take a ride with Mario in that Blazer. Damn.

fleuryous said...

Aw, a Whalers icon. haha.

My friend is from Connecticut, and he owns a Whalers hoodie...wears it all the time.

In other news, why do commercials of a young Mario always include awkward interactions with a young boy?

Come on now.

In other news,
GO PENS.

PenguinsExperience.com said...

I think what we've all learned from these commercials is that Mario likes young boys.

What a nice ad that mario put out! No wonder why todays pens had to put a car ad out as well. Mario had to do it and so does Talbot.

Is it just me or do you think they should trade Goligoski?

debrisslide said...

Trade Gogo? Are you high?

pride85 said...

We need some MulletStrong bracelets to bring that hot stuff back. I don't know what color they could be, but you know it'd be as slammin' as that blazer.

Aubrey said...

"Come live at my house, Sidney. You can play with my hockey stick all the time!" wink wink, nudge nudge

Ok now we've gone down a bad road, and I'm creeped out! Superb acting, though! I'm in full support of the MulletStrong bracelet...do it.

It seems that Janne Pesonen is stuck in the minors, and I don't really see a place for him on this team right now. Who would you bench?
Perhaps Dupuis? Godard? I think those two are the most expendable forwards.

Also if the D get all healthy who do you bench? I'd say Boucher, Eaton and Gill. Boucher has gotten alot of ice time but has not really impressed me. why didn't Sydor get that kind of opportunity. I count that Gill has 3 own goals this year. He is a massive body, but I think he would be the odd man out.

Do others have an opinion on this?

gretzkysucks said...

Boucher has played in 3 games. So if someone doesn't impress you that quickly he should be benched? Give me a break. They're not benching Godard. Cooke fights sometimes, but Godard can beat the living shit out of people. They need an enforcers presence on the ice sometimes.

I remember when a puck went in off of Scuds this season, so should they bench him too? Everyone thinks that the organization somehow cares about their opinions. Guess what, they don't. Leave the decisions up to the people who make them.

Jagrmeister said...

Why does Janne Pesonen need to come up here? There is no reason to bring him up ... Dupuis has been playing well and brings a lot of energy. Why bench Godard if we need him to be the enforcer (as gretzkysucks mentioned)?

Boucher hasn't impressed you because he hasn't been with the team long enough to adjust to the system of play. Gill has impressive play on PK with Scuds. Notice he is always out there with Scuderi on our PK? He's probably not going to go, Goligoski is the 1st to go because he is easier to send down and is younger.

gretzkysucks said...

Oh and by the way, you might want to stop the Mario likes little boys shit. Are you fucking kidding me? I don't care if you insult anyone else, but don't insult him. And I don't care if you were joking, it's a stupid thing to say.

Verle said...

hahaha I worked at Colussy for the past few summers, now they have Tunch Ilkin. I wish Buries It would've done ads recently.

Verle said...

by the way: Ilkin = Jobber.

Pens_MINI66 said...

Someone should kick the people that said that about Mario, that is so damn wrong. I mean all of the things that he does to help kids out. To say that you must have not heart what so ever!

Pens_MINI66 said...

Oh and gretzkysucks, I LOVE THE PICTURE!

Trade Gogo? Are you high?

My thoughts exactly, yo. haha.
To further answer the initial question...YES, I think you're the only one who think so, mini.

And I think the Mario liking little boys has gone a little too far. I just mentioned the fact that in all the commercials that have been posted, he awkwardly interacts with a little boy (which is true).

Perhaps hockey players are just not great actors. Yes, even the Gretzky in D2. hahaha.

fleuryous said...

PS. gretzkysucks...I pretty much love your icon.

kstewy16 said...

Trading Gogo for no reason? Genius.

Take it easy on Boucher, the pens play a pretty different defensive system than a lot of teams, and he's still getting used to it. Also, I can think of at least 3 goals that have gone in off of Gill, and I don't see anywhere near as many people saying bench him.

Also, why call up Janne Pesonen when Chris Minard is down there with 16 goals in 18 games? Minard is playing amazing and is probably the best potential scoring winger we have in the system.

gretzkysucks said...

Jagrmeister said...

Why do we need to call anyone up from the minors right now? We don't need Minard or Pesonen right now.

The trade Goose comment was a joke, Joke.

The Goon Blogger said...

Most likely we WILL see Gogo, LeGame, or Whit traded this year. We just have too many talented offensive defensemen and we simply DON'T need that many. We can get some good returns on Gogo or LeGame and if Whit is the one to go we'll clear some cap space as well as get fairly good returns.

Whatevs, In sHero I trust.

LargeTurkey said...

This blog makes fun of retarded people, but all of a sudden joking about super mario touching little boys is over the line? Its a joke. If you are honestly offended by it, you are probably at the wrong blog.

I'm not saying bench people now. I'm saying when/if everyone is healthy, you are only going to have 6 defenseman dressing, so if no one is traded, some people have to be benched.

Team Canada said...

Ok people, lets all relax. Nobody actually thinks that Mario likes little boys.

gretzkysucks said...

I wasn't referring to the staff, I was referring to a poster on here. And I've been reading this blog for a long time, so don't pull that "this is the wrong blog for you" shit.

debrisslide said...

I feel like we have to trade Eaton for some draft picks and some FunDip.

jefe p said...

Trade Gogo? Are you high?
no and yes.

id be afraid if they start putting little boys in talbots commercials.

kstewy16 said...

I wouldn't mind trading a defenseman for some of those Dallas Ice Girls...
Have you boys (and maybe girls) seen them? They put our Delta dental ice patrol to shame.

fleuryous said...

I'll admit...

I'm a woman, and I think the Dallas Ice Girls are hot.

Maybe the guys are too busy watching them to realize that they are, in fact, playing a hockey game. Hence, the slump. haha.

I bet you Avery pimps on them...or discusses their fashion faux pas.

Annie said...

gretzkysucks - it's totally cool. I'm just surprised people liked it so much - I'm usually not that funny. :)

jayness said...

There was a show on ESPN today (E:60, or something like that) that had an interview with Avery talking about his fashion interests beginning when he'd steal his babysitter's dolls to dress them up in certain outfits.

Awkward City.

fleuryous said...

Yeah, I saw it a couple weeks ago somewhere, that's what I was referring to. haha.

I, too, felt awkward watching that.

And I felt dirty, for some reason.

Uhhhhh yeah.

Aubrey said...

wow...sorry for joking around...i'll be more serious in the future, gretzky sucks

kstewy16 said...

If anyone wants a real good laugh, head over to A2Y and read the comments of everyone going crazy trying to figure out how to resign all their players. And its only November. If they are going crazy like this already, imagine what the spring and summer will be like.

@Fleuryous - I heard from an anonymous source of mine that Avery helped design this years ice girls uniforms. It was written in as part of his contract.

fleuryous said...

I literally when to Google and typed in "Sean Avery is" and a couple suggestions came up.

I suggest you do the same.

In Shero We Trust

i don't have a direct line to King Shero himself, but i think all of us here on Cblog can agree that he has some kind of plan.

I highly doubt that his plan includes trading a rookie and/or a sophomore player with unlimited upside right now, or in February. Those guys are both cheap right now and playing above their years. Their value to the team is probably higher as a member of the Penguins than as trade bait.

I don't care one way or another about what Shero does, because he hasn't been wrong yet. That being said, i would be surprised if the Pens were included in another blockbuster this year at the deadline. Even if they do become a big player, they have a decent surplus of defensemen(assuming that Whit and Gonch come back and are able to play at 100% or thereabouts), which will probably allow them to trade defensemen instead of draft picks.

Kovalchuk would probably be the only guy that i'd trade Gogo or Tanger for. Gaborik can eat me.

that's just my two cents. obviously, i could be dead wrong.

fleuryous said...

The fact that "Sean Avery is a joke" has almost 66,000 results makes me love hockey even more.

fleuryous said...

Stokes I completely agree.

I really don't think they'll trade Tang and Gogo, because...they're so cheap for how they're playing, I think. It's a huge deal we have them for right now, in my opinion.

I could be totally wrong, buuuuut that's what I think.

And Kovaljoke won't come here. He'd have to respect Sidney Crosby. haha.

kstewy16 said...

haha Fleuryous, Thats great.
I especially liked..
"Sean Avery, is Not, in Fact, a Faggot."

Although... "Sean Avery in hooker's black book" got a good laugh as well.

kstewy16 said...

Googleing "Sean avery is gay" returns...
"(Mostly) not gay, Avery to undergo surgery for limp wrist"

What a joke. I can't believe there were people wanting the Pens to sign him. He's a caricature of himself.

stokes said...

Right on, Fleuryous.

I don't think that the incident with Sid will keep Kovalchuk from coming here. They're professionals and probably would get over that real quickly if they start destroying the Eastern Conference. But I really don't see him coming here.

fleuryous said...

Oh my God, kstewy...that limp wrist surgery thing almost killed me.

hahahahaha.

I love this place.

kstewy16 said...

Kovalchuck/Gaborik/Hossa are not the answer to any of the penguins questions.
This team is building themselves for long term, and another player making 7+million does not fit in that long term plan.

And hey, Miroslav Satan is leading our team in goals right now, so lets not go all crazy on the winger search yet.

fleuryous said...

Get him for the next game day...

I don't get all the Sid and Kovalchuk hate each other nonsense that people bring up when a hypotheticaly deal to bring in Ilya is brought up. That was three years ago, they're professionals, and I think I remember Kovalchuk actually saying in an interview a while back that Crosby was his favorite player in the NHL. If either of them still held a grudge over that I would be surprised. I may stand in the minority here among Pens fans, but I thank Ilya for the point. Crosby was a little bit of a loose cannon who had a lot of growing up to do. I think the point helped him mature by embarassing him.

And come on, you have to admit it was fucking badass.

And as Stokes pointed out, Shero likes berry much the young players with manageable contracts. If anyone on D would go, it would prolly be Gonchar, as much as I hate to say it.
