A little part of me died inside when he Ruutu'd Crosby behind the net the other night.
The look of pure agony on Ruutu's faces is priceless.
After seeing his little pissant antics from the other side this past weekend, I'm ashamed to have ever delighted in them.
Trash talking and drawing penalties is one thing.
Mugging Max Talbot from behind (he's learning his lessons in Ottawa quickly isn't he? Always approach a man from the rear...) and elbowing Sid in the head are, as they say, quite another thing.
number 73?
they should trade sticks too...
That pic became my desktop background as soon as the game was over, hahahaha. :)
what a picture!
free candy should never happen to ruutu
and I even bought a Ruutu shirt that weekend. I think I did buy it before he started dropping The People's Elbow on Crosby.
I have a Ruu jersey. I don't wear it anymore. But I will wear it if he returns to Pittsburgh or when he retires.
I love that little shit.
Also, from ESPN:
"While teammates like Evgeni Malkin seemed to wilt under the pressure.."
Scott Burnside=Joke
Crosby is on Jim Rome right now!
Ruutu blows... low class scum. Don't remember him being so dirty for the Pens. Maybe because HCMT limited his ice time so he didn't embarrass the team.
Cool link... Pens media guide up

Ah yes, gone now are our blinders of Willful Ignorance. Though we loved him when he wore the Black and (vegas)Gold, Sean Avery's less gay(perhaps) compatriot is seen in a different light.
Just signed up for NHL Gamecenter live for 2 months. I "Found" a code in a display box of NHL 2k9 at GameStop. Yet I still find out that GameCenter Live still does blackouts.
blasphemy!
At least I will be able to see the pens when I'm on vacation in KS & STL.
Anyone going to the Pens Blues game on Nov.1st? I'm going to have to break out my Obama mask.
a little bit of me died inside too after watching him in Ottawa. He used to be my favorite but watching him on the other side of the fence makes me sick.
I'm sure Ruu lowered his game a little to get under his old team's skin. He'll only show up extra dirty vs the Pens.
He is a nasty player. When I saw him pounding on Sid in front of the benches. I wanted to slaughter him.
Love to have him on your team. Hate to play against him.
Ruutu = Overrated Goon.
Matt Cooke is 100x better.
Especially on offense.
Ruutu was just pissed because Bryan Murray didn't oil him up before the game.

•Taffe put on waivers.
•Beech placed on: Doncha Eva Come Back Now, Ya Hear! Waivers.
•Biz Nasty changes numbers.
a bit surprised about the Taffe demotion. Wonder if something went on behind the scenes that caused him to be:
•scratched in Game 2.0
•placed on Waivers
carroll...
HAHAHA!!!!...AWESOME!
EXCELLENT QUESTION!
If I ever hit the Powerball, I'd open a Tim's on 5th Ave....right across the street from the new M&M Arena.

3rd picture..
@dr t - you and Stoosh have inspired me. I should have asked a question about Poutine also.
Sports Illustrated predicts Detroit over Pittsburgh in Stanley Cup final.
SI is the worst magazine ever.
Dr. Turk.
Taffe shitted up his and the team's pants in game one. It's no wonder he was scratched for game 2.
I feel bad for Taffe to Twine. He was solid for us last season and always worked his ass off every shift he played. After two games to be throwing dudes on waivers like it doesn't matter is a little ridiculous.
Nothing you can do about it though, I hope Taffe gets picked up somewhere and still can be on an NHL roster.
Biz changes his number to 16? I dunnno...I'd rather be under the pressure of being the only guy between 66 and 68 than be wearing the former number as Erik "I was good for like, 2 games" Christensen.
own3d
Also, Beech being on Double Secret Waivers makes me lol.
Excellent Monday Morning QB Analysis, thefandang...
With all the NHL non-European traveling teams having to get their rosters in order...
Maybe King Shero is chomping at the bit to pick someone off the waiver wire and was just making space available by that unnecessary movement of Taffe.
tGB...
I liked Taffe...as a serviceable 3/4th liner...but maybe there's an upgrade better than him out there on the horizon...
As they say in Soviet Russia you may not be interested in Free Candy, but Free Candy is interested in you.
glad to see beech is finally gonna be out of a pens jersey for good.
Beech can go play overseas with Jagr and hopefully they will both never be heard from or thought of again...
GoGo wore 67 last season for the Big Pens.
Biznasty wore #20 with the Baby Pens.
What does this all mean?
Nothing... except that they are leaving #20 open for Army to return.
dr t Shaefer? That's a big no on that sad ol' fart. Unless he would take a mil for a year. Other than that there's way better things to waste 2 mil on.
So do we think Taffe's move is to clear up some cap space for a new addition to the roster?
http://penguins.nhl.com/team/app?articleid=385510&page=NewsPage&service=page
- The Penguins assigned forward Janne Pesonen and goaltender John Curry to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The moves leave Pittsburgh with a 22-man roster, one short of the NHL limit of 23.
Let the Nanananana era begin.
Through my buddy's cousin, citing Insider:
Pens are looking at Mark Bell for depth at LW.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brMWWY4jTkg
This Mark Bell? Barf.
Mark Bell cleared waivers and is assigned to the Marlies.
You know who else wore #16 for the Pens? The guy who's basically been put on two weeks' notice, in his first stint with the team. Beech got #24 the second time around.
Not much good history for #16 with the Pens, worn by guys who went on to bigger and better things after retirement (Glen Sather and Jay Caulfield -- Mario's in the best shape of his life, right?) and guys who came to Pittsburgh well past their primes (Derek Sanderson and Charlie Simmer, and Edzo to a lesser extent), and a whole bunch of never-weres, including Beech and Crusher.
Joe Dziedzic is probably the best name (not player, mind you) to have 16.
WOOOO
oh, and blackandgold,
#20 is open for NANANANA to have it!!
Did anyone else catch the announcers on Orpik's hit saying Ruutu was embellishing? No one takes him seriously -- didn't he get called for 'diving' last year?
he was called at least twice for diving last year.
People who complain about Ruutu now that he's not on the Pens don't know what they're talking about.
He did stuff like that over the weekend all the time here, people just choose not to see it.
Commit to the Wilsmith
Preach on brother.
I do love that picture.
Beeches.
I thought Ruutu was great when he played for Vancouver
I really loved Ruutu when he played for the Pens
After seeing what he did to Crosby I'm starting to dislike Ruutu :(
But I guess that is his job. To make the other team dislike him.
Just bring up Pesonen already... he's a left winger!
