Pesonen was cut today, sent down to the minors. [ Pens ]
Getting used to the BE A PRO camera mode down there will be a chore for him.
Of the other bubble players, Biz Nasty and Bill Thomas made the team.
We haven't had a good look at Bill Thomas yet.
But there was probably some dude on your high school's A/V crew named Bill Thomas.

First.
And we'll see Peso again on the Pens this year.
Does anyone know if NHL center ice is doing s free preview again this year?
Also is this game gonna be on tv? I checked a few days ago and saw nothing on versus.
GO PENS!
Like I said in what was apparently the last comment of the last post, Peso is going to make the AHL look like kindergarten. Definitely going to see him again this year.
@ thomes08: Pens TV Schedule this year.
i like the call of keeping curry up. i sadly dont believe in sabu and i think curry given the chance could be a hell of a backup
Well damn...I was hoping Peso would make the team. I'm really happy that Bill Thomas is still around, though...I watched him play college hockey here in Omaha, and he was one of the key players that led the UNO Mavericks to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. Omaha hockey fans have fond memories of that. WOOOOO!!
curry is up purely for security reasons for the trip. He'll be back in WBS after the trip, and rightfully so, so he can continue playing top minutes.
Everyone always be devaluing the Peso.
oh, i thought this was the last round of cuts
Speaking as a former member of the high school, AV club I can assure everyone we did not have a Bill Thomas.
There WAS a John Curry though.
Well, okay...he spelled it Currie.
We didn't like him and kept him at arm's length as much as humanly possible. He was too much of a loser for us AV kids.
Roll that last sentence around in your mind for a while to see if you can really grasp all the implications therein.
Via pens website:
Both games from Sweden will be televised locally by FSN Pittsburgh, with Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey calling the action. On the radio side, Mike Lange and Bourque will call the games on 105.9 The X and the Penguins radio network.
Not exactly shocking, but he'll be back.
stupid move, peso will be playing on sid's wing before we know it. nobody can argue that bisonette, taffe, godard or thomas deserves a spot over pesonen. @thomes08 centerice is called nhl gamecenter or something like that and theyre doing a free preview next weekend, for some reason they arent carrying this weekend's games.
We have a sick fighting line-up
Lightweight = Kennedy
Middleweight = Biz Nasty
Heavyweight = God of Thunder
Barely any love for Scoods in that last post. Just like Empty Netters saying that Scoods would have to "battle" for a position this season.
The guy was as solid as solid gets ALL of last season. Just my two cents. (BTW, if you didn't hear much about him last season... it's because he was doing his job.)
Solid post none-the-less. I am AMPED for tomorrow.
CenterIceblog:
Center Ice usually never carries games that are nationally televised. And although both games this weekend are on FSN Pittsburgh...
Saturday's game is on the NHLNetwork.
Sunday's is on Versus.
Let's Go Pens!!!
ESPN.com is reporting that Sykora is out for tomorrow with a groin injury and he couldnt skate at practice today... havent seen that anywhere else but that is cause for concern
If Syko's hurt, can they "call up" Peso for these games until he's feeling better?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo.....
Damn.
My dreams of buying a Peso #20 to replace my Lang #20 are going to have to wait. I really, really hope he gets a shot at some point during the season.
In Pittsburgh? More like Bill Tomaczinski.
ooooohhhh...pensgirl....well played, indeed.
They should call Peso up from "The Hotel They're Staying At" for the two games in Europe since Syko is out.
Pensgirl's comment makes me want to watch All the Right Moves.
Did anyone see that TB sent Ouellet down to their AHL team?
Lawl.
Hi. I was at the Pens open practice in Stockholm today and Paul Steigerwald interviewed me and a friend. Apparently they thought I looked like Maxime Talbot and made a big deal about.
I was wondering if you or any of your readers could give me a shout if it made the broadcast tomorrow.
You'll know which part I'm talking about.
Thanks
bill was here last season. pretty good guy it seemed and with his scoring became a pretty popular player.
as for peso, def gonna see him again in pittsburgh. my luck he'll be called up the day before the game here on halloween so i won't see him.
it was pretty nice gettin the txt alert today....being that my text tone is nanana
Bill Thomas = Sniper
If Sykora's hurt long-term, Peso should get a shot at that wing.
The nanananana will have a ridick season for the baby pens. He's going to be a force we'll be seeing for quite the while. The guys down in WBS have developed so many talented players for us, I have no problem with him taking a year down there. Hell, I prefer it.
Just gives me more time to learn Finnish.
In his honor, I will play his theme to open my improv show tonight.
Congrats to Big Bill Hometown Hero.
Seriously, the puck drops tomorrow. Sweet caroline, thats amazing.
Tyler Kennedy is small, but he can pack a punch.
The background on my computer is STILL Kennedy beating the shit out of Upshall.
Best. fight. ever.
I bet Peso was sent down just to get him used to the North American game. The preseason is just not enough. There is no way he isn't more valuable than Thomas.
And as for making Thomas more Polish, I think his name would be something more along the lines of TOMASZYNSKI. But thats just semantics.
GO PENS! Something like 90% of people on ESPN are picking them to beat Ottawa tomorrow. Counts for shit, but its all about confidence.
I just had to share my joy/relief on this-
I called my cable company to ask a question about my last bill, and at the end of the conversation the rep let me know that NHL Network had been added to the lineup as of 10/1. I practically started jumping up and down, I was so happy that I'm actually going to be able to see the game tomorrow.
Ready for the puck to drop!
Pens-Jokerit highlights.
I'm pretty pumped about NHL Network showing Hockey Night in Canada this season. Is this a first? I'm a NLHN n00b
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93xpH2EhhnM
stamkos trying to act all tough hiding behind the refs. Caputi would destroy him in a fight.
He'll be back up, and I'm looking forward to it.
Peso def. proved he can compete at the NHL level in the preseason. I think that this is so that he has more time to get used to N.Am. hockey and the systems that the pens use on the ice.
tomorrow = no more wait
An ESPN article on Crosby. I wonder what kind of text messaging plan he has.
great news kierstan! but what about VerSucks, u got it?
be a pro camera...haha
Carey Price save of the year, and it's not even the year yet.
UNREAL. I love that kid.
people fired up over peso being sent down need to chill.
no one can say he's not better than those fourth line guys, but someone like pesonen doesn't compete for a fourth line job, he's competing for a spot on a line where scoring, not mucking and grinding, is the objective.
He's the first man up when a top 6 guy gets hurt, but he didnt really have a shot at filling one of those spots out of camp.
WHAT THE SHIT!?
Blasphemy.
I had just uploaded this video of Pesonen to EASW today.
Playoffs 2009, ECF vs. Devils, Shorthanded (Malkin Penalty), Crosby-Pesonen-Gill-Orpik PK

How could you send THAT to the minors, bad choice!
Still, GO PENS!

kyle...
if at 1st you don't succeed:
try, try, try, try, try again.
wireless internet will fail sometimes and calls for frustration clicks.
plus, my content has to go all the way through the series of tubes to CA.
sorry for the inconvenience ol' chap.
Completely non related to hockey: I know that we have some scientific background. Is 2-methyl pentane = (CH3)2 CH CH2 CH2 CH3
Max Power...indeed it is. haha
Does it put out a fair amount of energy when burned and if it is used in the fuel source for a combustion engine would it be safe?
That, I do not know, unfortunately...
what are you doing? haha.
I wanted Peso to make the cut. I know he'll probably be back up, but still.... It would have been nice to be able to watch him tomorrow.
I'm trying to break 200mph in my car. I should note that I'm trying to do it without blowing up in the process. Now since it is a methyl that means that it is a some what of a stable liquid?
I tried the 3,3-diethyl-4-methyl-5-propaloctane, i.e. the normal automobile octane. It did well but failed.
I also tried CH3 C(CH2CH3)2 CH2 CH (CH2 CH3) CH3: 2,2,4 trieethyl pentane. That worked well but burned too hot and warped my head gasket. Any suggestions?
I googled its material safety data sheet, and it says that it could be rather dangerous under certain conditions.
See what I go through for you? haha.

jefe p -I've got Versucks too, so I'm set, thank goodness. I was worried after reading the EN link akus posted in the last thread, because I didn't know Center Ice blacked out stuff shown on NHLN and Versus.
...how sad is it that I'll be listening to some of these games while I'm at work, and then come home and watch them on my DVR?
kierstan, thats cool.
ill record games and have gone days without mention of the pens, total avoidance, if i hadnt been able to watch one and catch up. not an easy task. but worth it to wait and see the game(s) not knowing what happened via anywhere else..

I won't be able to watch anyone from the Pens tomorrow. God dammit, welfare cable strikes again! I need to find an online feed of the game somewhere... Any ideas? I'm sure someone can find one, since we have scientists working on car fuels and all.
Just spent a good hour looking for anything about a live feed of the Pens v. Sens game tomorrow on the internet, and nothing. I'm pretty bummed. Looks like I'm going to have to get up at like 8am and drive two hours to my sister's, break in and commandeer her TV. She has DirecTV and I think I heard somewhere that Center Ice is having a free preview or something. Anyone care to say if that's the case before I drive across the state? Hahaha.
@ anthony and everyone else who can't watch it on TV:
Justin.TV streams (Will probably be streaming the NYR/TB game, too.)
