well, cameras take a lot of shots...and after that lame joke i'm pretty sure i will too.
anyway, if you want to be good at penalty shots (scream like pee wee at today's secret word!!) it helps if you're finnish.
Shots are one thing, but scoring chances are another. Obviously there is still room for improvement, but our scoring chances have been high. We've had a lot of posts and errant shots that don't get on net. It's not as bad as some people make it sound. The Pens are generating offensive chances. They're just not executing. It's going to start gelling. We've been playing some solid defensive teams with damn-good goalies lately too.
That said, Malkin and Crosby shouldn't be on the same line together except in an emergency or when we are playing a really weak team. Malkin belongs in the middle with Sykora on his wing. I'm glad we're going back to that combo. Maybe TK/Stall/Satan can have a scoring punch. This could be a nice alignment.
Give me Carlos Hathcock. He supposedly shot an NVA sniper through the scope.

All the same, 3 shots in a period is pretty bad. I am heartened to see that Malkin is pissed about it. A good player/team recognizes areas of weakness and works to improve them. I'd feel worse if Malkin said, "Meh, it's only October, we'll get better." There's no reason for jumping off the bridge yet, but at the same time; Apathy does not breed Excellence. I'm excited to see how Malkin's anger translates on the ice.

@ jawsh- Muldoon is clutch. When the Pens hold onto the puck too long you can scream "SHOOT HER! SHOOOOOOOOT HERRRRRR!" at the screen.
I think you will see a much better game out of Tank tonight considering he will have the confidence from playing with Bing last game towards the end and getting 4-5 passes right on his tape in the slot (burying one)...I just don't think Satan and Tank work well together considering they are too much of the same player and want to go between the dots.

Im incredibly happy that Malkin is pisssed - Im sure Crosby and the rest are as well. We as fans have no effect on the end result of each game. Sure - we can cheer and yell when we're there and that helps to motivate them... but we can't force them to do something that they can't do or that they dont want to do. Thats why we, as fans, need to remember thats its only October and calm down. HOWEVER.... if the players were sitting here thinking that they were satisfied with their record and quality of play as it stands now I would be worried. They have to be motivated to play better than they did the night before regardless if they won or lost. They have to find that next level to take their play to.even when it seems impossible They need to work and practice together until they instinctively know where their linemates are on the ice. These are all things that they need to do - not us. And we've seen time and time again that some of the best motivators for these guys are anger and frustration. I have no doubt that Malkins sentiments are the same as the rest of the locker room. And I have no doubt that they will use those feelings to take their game to where it needs to be. They need to be pissed - we need to have faith.
