Posted by Pensblog Staff at 6:53 PMWell Milt Stegall is some jobber who played or something in the CFL.
We don't know who else ran this story, we heard it on XM, and found the video on [Scarlett Ice]
Wow.

JJJJJJOOOOOKKKKKKEEEEE
relax...it's sarcasm
Are we sure this isn't chad ocho cinco?
He must be a really good football player to be in the CFL...
"I'm tired of having all the fun. You have 60 minutes to kill this joke or I'm blowing up hospitals..."
Ok this guy wants to fight, BGL where you at?
That man needs some Free Candy. Ain't Halloween round the corner?
Milt Stegall (6'0", 185) is a wide receiver who played his college ball at Miami-Ohio University. After a brief three-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals, he went on to become the CFL's leader in career receptions, receiving touchdowns and total touchdowns. No one in CFL history scored more than Milt Stegall.
I love Canada.
But in terms of relevance within one's industry, being one of the best players in CFL history is, well...
kind of like being the coolest guy at Shenanigan's.
Let's see this guy say that to Gary Robert's or Laraque's face. JOKE.
his life is over. nobody in canada gives a shit about football.
wow...
long time reader. first time poster. the silence has been broken after watching this outrage.
if anything, hockey is the only real sport.
that is all.
Things that are more real than Milt Stegall:
Dryer Lint
Used tea leaves
Hoover vacuum cleaner
jellybeans
tater tots
jarkko ruutu
That man needs some free candy.
Canadian Football isnt a real sport...
I forgot that there was a Canadian football league.
What a loser!
Not sure if this was mentioned but Colby Armstrong is sporting an A for the Thrashers.
Okay I have never heard of Milt...and I am born and raised in Canada.
Feebs said...

@Feebs: me too and I know people who have played in the CFL. I currently live in the city that has attempted mulitple times to keep a team and failed miserably.
I'm pretty sure he was trying to be funny.
...as opposed to the sports juggernaut that is the Canadian Football League.
You know, the hockey fans who go apeshit trying to defend the sport look like bigger idiots than the dude who originally made the dumb comparison.
Get over the inferiority complex.
I love how I came to Pensblog and there was an ad for the SAT on it. PENSBLOG FOR EDUCATION.
Adam and Derek=Sellouts
Wooo
I'm just glad I had a cheap opportunity to link Mitch's rant from "Waiting..."
Milt Stegall scores touchdowns, but he probably cannot do "The Goat".
They all respect each other, I'm sure. Well, maybe they don't, but they should.
He's got to be kidding, considering the grueling schedule that hockey players have.
And yeah, football players only play 16 games a season, but they get pretty ripped up. Obviously hockey players do too, and I'm definitely not downplaying them, but yeah...you know.
I, personally, think that hockey players have to be the healthiest people alive, in terms of endurance and such. To play basically eight or nine months a year, straight? Craaaaaaaazy.
Alright, I'm going to stop talking. haha
Wait...they play football in Canada?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
lmao what a jobber and im glad this guy sitll thinks gretzky plays hes just as big of a joke as gretzky
If any sport should be questioned, it's baseball. I put it on the same plain with shuffleboard.
He was joking around. You could tell it was staged because not even Terrell Owens's ego is big enough that he'd be walking around in public with his game jersey on.
Baseball is the problem.
@ FH -

Mikey Fetters.
That is all.

Sarah Palin will drop the ceremonial faceoff at the Flyers home opener. I wonder how the HIGHLY blue area of Philadelphia will react to her.
Also Politics+Hockey=Vomit
This is one Philadelphia booing that I'll be in total agreement with.
I'm sure Philly will show her the same amount of love as they did Santa!
I agree, politics and hockey really don't mix. Leave it to the Flyers to do something like that.
If it wasn't sarcasm, this guy is a major douchebag, and a total idiot.
Sarah Palin deserves some
FREE CANDY!! One more reason the Flyers suck!
Being the best player in the CFL is like coming in last in the Special Olympics
hockey > football > canadian football
Hey guys, long time reader, first time post...How about this for a game time quote?
"And what the enemy will see, they will see the flash of our cannons (Malkin point shots), and they will hear the ringing of our swords (crossbars), and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colors!"(as we raise the Black and Gold!!)
Hey buddy, you think your such a badass...you play in the CFL...thats all that needs to be said...what a joke
my girlfriends hair dresser used to play in the CFL. i repeat... hair dresser.
and thats all i have to say about that
Milt makes 2 very fatal errors:
1. challenging any hockey player to a fight (see: BGL, Boogie Man, GODard, hell i'd even put my money on TK against this joke)
and
2. "What's the guy's name, Wayne Gretzky, is that the most famous hockey player?" Buries It = Stunned.
Hey...I'd pay to go watch the BC Lions over the Seahawks this weekend. At least they've won a few games, and we can stop at Timmy's to load up right before the border.
My hetero-sexual life-mate Flyer Hater hit the nail on the head in regards to the inferiority complex.
And Sarah Palin dropping the puck?
Hopefully some of her can rub off on the Flyers.
(Meaning... she lost any chance McCain had at winning the election. What a terrible decision. Ugh. Where you at Hilldog??)
Oh and to tie in the politics/hockey talk.
Check out this promotion.
Presidential Nominee Bobblehead night
[Enter overused Cleveland Jokes here]
Say what you want... but seriously... Some kid will get one and go to Antique Roadshow in 50 years and sell a Lake Erie Monster's President _______ bobblehead for 3,000 Marklarks.
Ah, who cares.
Petrelli/HRG '08
I love it. Very good friend, long time Flyer fan(fag) emailed me today with this as the subject line: I think I'm going to throw up in my mouth Body of email? Link to Palin dropping the puck at the home opener for the Flyer Fags.
Then he begged me for Pens tix. Another one converted.
Thought for sure something would have appeared by now on the Sean Avery thing, especially the 'playing with dolls when I was little' comment........
and the comment about he does shit because he thinks hockey is 'boring'.
What a tool, I haven't checked for awhile to see if he made the douchebag website.
To all of you trash talking Sarah Palin what have you accomplished in your life? The real jokes are the ones who made those posts. Zero class, attacking someone that has done nothing to you. Real good people. Glad to see we have a right to form our own opinions in this country.
People who hate people like Sarah Palin or either on welfare or think they are the educated elite.
By the way, enjoy your socialist country. Can't wait to raise the soviet flag, will be a great day for America. "The Great Society"
Hasn't this stuff been tried before and it has failed?
I am done with policial talk.
Go Pens!
Just wanted to point people like that are scum.
Anyone else notice he only mentioned sports or activities played mainly by white people? That canadian is racist
@rwarner - I have no idea what you just said.
ON A HOCKEY-RELATED NOTE THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FUCKING SARAH PALIN:
There are like $35 tickets to the Penguins@Bruins game up on stubhub and I still don't have anyone to go with. Hahahaha.
Cut it with the politics bullshit. If you think politics has no place in hockey, then why even mention it? Where have the rest of the sensible c-bloggers gone?
@rwarner
You are a complete clown. People are allowed to judge Sarah Palin. After all, she is on the republican ticket for the presidency. No one even said they were liberal or conservative.
Perhaps they don't like her because she has little grasp of the issues and continually reverts back to talking points rather than detail about policy. I'm glad to hear that you think Sarah Palin is all that stands in the way of us and socialism. You are a joke.
I basically said many liberals are fascists. Which means if you disagree with them then you are called stupid and ridiculed. Oh yeah and sometimes a racist too. Pretty simple really.
Buy canned goods, hand guns and stockpile water. We are in for a bumpy ride.
As long as I have satilte tv and I can watch NHL center ice I will be good.
Where the hell is Janne? Paul Bisonette is terrible and we obviously need an offensive punch! I can not comprehend why they sent him down.
@LargeTurkey
"You are a complete clown."
Thank you for proving my point about fascisim.
rwarner, that made no sense at all. o_0
I could list at least ten reasons why people might judge Palin negatively. But I'm not gonna, because this is neither the time nor the place. Like Eileen said, if you want to keep politics out of hockey talk, why even fucking bring it up?
"I'm glad to hear that you think Sarah Palin is all that stands in the way of us and socialism."
No actually I think the american people have to do that themselves by not putting socalists in power. By the way, Mccain is just as bad, he said his plan was to buy up people's mortgages. Give me a break.
But unlike you I am capable at looking at something objectivly.
And now people who have opinions are fascists? You're a total joke.
@Annie
I didn't start the hate talk.
@Annie
"And now people who have opinions are fascists? You're a total joke."
I would argue people that would boo someone for droping a puck are a joke. But hey ya know.
When did I say I'd boo someone for dropping a puck? You just keep making more and more of a fool of yourself.
If engaging a complete stranger in an online argument about trivial shit made me feel like a bigger person, I'd continue arguing with you. But it doesn't. So peace out.
#66 is in the best shape of his life; and if we could somehow find a way, he'd make a fantastic president. If Ah-nold can be governor and succeed, #66 Buries It!
Annie,
Please try reading some of the pervious comments.
@Flyerhater
"This is one Philadelphia booing that I'll be in total agreement with."
@OldTimeHockey67
"Sarah Palin deserves some
FREE CANDY!! One more reason the Flyers suck!"
I never said that you said that Annie. Others did. One person threatened her and the other said they would boo. But I guess that makes me a joke.
If Obama wins, god help us, I will still respect the office of the president of the united states and clap for him if he were to say to drop the puck at a pens game. Weather I agree with him or not he is my president and he deserves my respect.
I was at a Nationals game where people booed George Bush. It was the most classless thing I have ever scene. You just don't do it, agree with him or not he is your president and the office deserves respect.
I am not saying you have to agree with him. But we are a united nation and we should act that way.
If feeling that way makes me a joke then so be it. I guess I'm a joke and I'm proud to be one.
Milt Stegall is not a real athlete.
I had never even heard of this disgusting disease until this very moment.
And just for the record.... people who immediately equate Socialism with Communism are complete dolts. Countries can have "Socialist" aspects without being solely identified as Socialist countries. i.e. Canada, England. I didn't read all of the posts, but there are some people, in general, who need to realize that Communism claims it is Socialism, but Socialism is not Communism.... like, Milt Stegall would call himself a real athlete, but I don't know how many real athletes would say they are like Milt Stegall. Ya' know? There's more to it all.
Oh, yeah.
Who the fuck are all of these people?
I couldn't agree with you more. Socalism is not communism.
Socalism is a economic theory where the state collectivly has ownership and administration powers over goods and services. In simple terms the government has a monopoly over the economy, will a little splash of redistribution of wealth. Which of course kills the drive for people to succeed.
Communism takes that as step further where the state has common ownership over everything. It also delegates the work forces as it best sees fit. This of course would lead to people being forced to do work that they don't want to do. The very opposite of freedom.
Socailism has worked in some places, but mostly because those countries can crutch on the United States for military protection. A country like Canada could never matain its socalist structure if it was responsible for defending itself from forign enemies.
But FUCK! Lets go pens.
And remember, in a communist society no one would win the stanley cup. All 30 teams would be champions every year. After all, its only fair in the interest of social justice.
Christ, sorry I brought it up.
"I can't go to bed honey... someone on the internet is WRONG!"
Ass.
this just in:
Milt Stegall kicked out of Canada.
i think hes actually a huge fan of hockey. he knew gretzky (is that the guys name?) is in phoenix..
(the yotes making the playoffs is more like being almost pregnant)
or maybe hes just mad cause he cant swim and is afraid of ice melting.
also, my vote is to turn cblog off again :)
This dedication goes out to BNG.
if you were an all-star of a second rate sport in a country where everyone and their sister grew up on a pair of skate, you'd probably be a little salty too. i guess all the jokes from the european football league moved over to canada
long live frankfurt galaxy
So they actually talked about hockey a lot on American ESPN today. Crosby made the rounds on the shows and the ESPN.com frontpage actually had a hockey story for a few minutes!
If it wasn't for the legend that is Bucci, ESPN would be a total joke when it comes to hockey.
Bucci/Ken the Otter '08!
Deuce Bigalow is on TV.
WOOOOOOOO.
Tickets for C-level home opener: $115.
Cost of Staal jersey with 250 Patch: $111.
Listening to Phil Collins: Priceless.
Reading argumentative politics on a hockey blog between people whom I've never seen before: A fucking waste of time.
Ok...hockey players wear the same outfits as figure skaters? Milt, one question, have you even SEEN a hockey game? Moron...
Hockey isn't a real sport? LAAAAAAWWWWWLLLLL.
People who hate people like Sarah Palin or either on welfare or think they are the educated elite.
R u serios? Sarah Palin is the fucking anti-christ. My sister in law is from Alaska, and from what she's told me, the shit that woman has done to the state of Alaska (or tried to do).... Ugh.
I'm glad she's dropping the puck in Philly. I just hope everyone there boo's her ass. Good game.
I'm pretty sure even Gionta would beat this guy... in anything, a fight, dick-length contest, canadian football, who played better at miami of ohio.
although i do give credit where credit is do. he did rip on gretzky and the fact there's hockey in phoenix. and he sub-consciously didn't say anything bad at The Magnificent One. because everyone is born with that instinct, the instinct to live.
c-blog has been taken over by d-bags.
shut up.
There's like a 10% success rate of newer people not becoming d-bags within the first month of their posting existence.
STFU about politics, seriously. I'm sure there's 9034759879387675 other boards on the Gore where you can discuss that. Personally, I couldn't care less who likes Obama, McCain, Barr, etc., and I'm sure a good percentage of the posters here feel the same way.
If you want to job this guy who had half a cup of coffee on some very bad Bengals teams (two of his three years, they went 3-13. ouch), then job away. If you want to say he's being sarcastic, that's fine too. I haven't watched the video yet, and I'm sure I'll have some form of opinion on it. More than likely, it'll involve that this guy is an irrelevant d-bag whose opinion isn't worth much, if anything. But for now I will guarantee one thing: my opinion won't involve fucking politics.
Besides, if you nickname is "the touchdown beagle", then you truly are a joke.
Well said j.s.
It can't be November 5th fast enough. Let's leave divisive political talk out of the cblog. Hockey is more fun, and frankly more important.
In other important news.. Milt Stegall is a peckerwood. Anyone who can be a joke on one of the worst teams in the NFL and then become one of the best recievers in the CFL doesn't play in a real league.
From the Baby Pens' website:
"Michel Therrien Bobblehead Night is scheduled for Dec. 13 against the Portland Pirates."
Woo-Hoo!
publicity stunt .
Never seen a CFL game- does it have as many stoppages in play as an NFL game, or more because there are only 3 downs? Or does it not have enough advertisers to justify a commercial break every 2 minutes?
Orpik/Eaton '08
"Free Candy for all!"
We should get someone from the AHL to badmouth professional football.
It would be the equivalent.
I could see it now.
"What are they? Glorified gymnasts or track & field stars?"
I actually went to school with somebody who's somewhat of a star in the CFL. Think he's 2 or 3 years younger than me. Good guy off the field, decent numbers in HS and college, but he bounced around in the NFL from practice squad to practice squad to practice squad to...well, you get the idea.
Point being, if you go from hitting the bottom of the barrel of the NFL to being an all pro player in the CFL, that should give an idea as to what type of talent they have running through their league.
@maxmoseley, he's an ocho cinco wanna-be. He actually glossed himself with a similar nickname, but in francais. Quatre-Vingt-Cinq, which is my french is correct, would also be 85. How freaking original (rolls eyes).
this is like the tiger woods thing only i know who tiger woods is.
Some people should just die.
"R u serios? Sarah Palin is the fucking anti-christ. My sister in law is from Alaska, and from what she's told me, the shit that woman has done to the state of Alaska (or tried to do).... Ugh."
She has an 80% approval rating. Once again proving my fascist statement. Calling someon the anti-christ because you disagree with them.
How much you do you want to bet that this guy retracts his statement when he realizes being deported from Canada would stop his source of income? Then he'd have to resort to doing some ridiculous stunt like fighting some retired goon hockey player to make some money. I would recommend he fight someone like Tony Twist, he'd lay him out cold.
Politics have become so partisan that people on the extremes of both sides are fascists. One side calls Palin the anti-christ, the other equates liberals with being on welfare or thinking they're better than everyone else.
On one side, there are the commie, bleeding heart, America-hating, tree hugging fags and on the other there are the heartless, blood sucking, warmongering assholes who would kill their own mother to get to oil.
Unfortunately, this is the result of a society that has begun to emulate radio and TV pundits who can do nothing but resort to childish name calling. I wish politicians would hold themselves to a higher standard than the blowhards on radio, but that's not the reality.
I may be liberal, but that doesn't define my views on all subjects any more than being a conservative can be judged simply by that label.
I'll get off my soapbox now as this a hockey blog, just had to get my 4 cents in (have to adjust for inflation).
Stop talking politics. you won't convince anybody of anything in here. don't you realize that? you're wasting your time, keystrokes and your own patience in doing that. Talk about hockey.
@ wilsmith
You hit the nail on the head.
CFL isnt a real football league.
