I'm actually in Philly at the moment. This city never ceases to amaze me on how classy it is.

I can feel where the staff is coming from with this still being their preseason when it comes to recaps. Call me a horrible fan, but I just don't seem to be into the first month or so of the season. Of any season, really. I went to the Pitt game yesterday (I thought it was pretty cool that after Pitt touchdowns, they show the Pitt basketball team on the jumbotron jumping around celebrating) and didn't even care about getting back to watch the game. Point is, it's a long season and it's hard to get so emotionally invested in games at the beginning of it.
And I knew the day would come that ads would be plastered everywhere on the site, but I don't think that is why this place seems to be going through the motions right now. I love that cliche'.

I saw/heard that stinkbomb thing at Philly as it happened, and after the GWG, thought immediately that now the Philly shitbags have a new good luck charm/tradition. Don't be surprised to see it again.
I realize this is belated, but with tpb construction, etc. i didn't get a chance to mention this. My friend and i were getting off of the 71d downtown on the way to the pens/canes game, and noticed a really tall guy in a suit getting his picture taken. As we walked a few paces down the sidewalk and past the new arena (looking good!) we realized that this was Hal Gill. Luckily, i had a few in me already and summoned up the courage to ask him what he thought of the nickname "USS Hal Gill." he laughed and said he read The pensblog once or twice and liked it. So if Hal ever reads tpb again, thanks for taking the time to talk to a couple of fans!
...and even a smoke bomb couldn't cloud the fact the flyers and most of their fans suck.

fleuryous, I was in section 532, there was a girl and her dad behind me, and during one of the plays he accidentally spilled his old coffee on my back. He was very apologetic, but I told him at least it's not scalding and not to worry about it. Other than the fact our defense didn't show up until the second half and Stull was seriously injured, it was a good game to go to.

It may seem funny but if you think about it its really scary to think whaaty people can get into an arena. I mean when you walk in Mellon Arena they barely search you at all. If someone wanted to do something really bad wouldn't be hard at all.
