this was by far one of my favorite games of the season but I almost missed it. my ex - the self proclaimed "huge pens fan" - decided that instead of leaving in time to see the game we would stay at his parents house playing scrabble. my ex=EPIC FAIL. by the time we got back the game was long over but luckily I had dvr'd it so i was able to watch it that night. the next morning I told him that after this win they would be like a new team. he told me that should bring back melichar and endo and get rid of gonchar and staal. turning point of the season and relationship. thank GODard for hockey!

I was hammered drunk- i know, classy- during that game. The Fiance's cousin was making these drinks that were super alcoholic and tasty as all getout. So, i'm hammered and the SO begins. The entire house and watching, I'm pumped up and as the SO begins i'm high fiving everyone in sight. Flash forward to RUUUUU's game winning SO goal. I'm so pumped i could bench press the house. I go around the room high fiving again, which included two grandma's, one of which smacked herself in the face after i whacked the shit out of her hand. Whoops.
Then, i started talking about giving The Fiance a Jarkko Ruutu style elbow as she's going to bed. Apparently, that's not funny.

Most lawyers don't want educated people on a jury anyway. They want people they can sway by playing to their emotions, so if you give off the image that you're an intelligent person who'll actually consider the evidence in a cold, emotionless manner, you'll probably never get picked.
Of course, the one time my wife got called up for jury duty, it was in her hometown while she was still in college, both lawyers trying the case knew her dad (who's also a lawyer), and she still got picked. Ended up as the forewoman too.

On Mike and Mike this morning, they were interviewing Brian Cashman and talking about the Dark Knight. They were comparing superheroes, and the fat one kept trying to make his point that Batman was the weakest because he needed his utility belt to have any kind of power, going so far to say that Aquaman was better because he could kick a shark's ass or something to that effect. For some reason, he neglected the fact that Bale's Batman can kick your ass a hundred ways to sunday.

I got picked for a criminal jury once. It was for 19 y/o dude that killed another in Carrick over 2 ounces of sticky - but the defense was he shot him due to self defense.
After 7 days of testimony the judge ruled it a mistrial. A mother of a girl that was sort of involved came forward to say they were setting the kid up to rob him. They didn't know he would have a desert eagle tucked in his waistband.
It was nice I still got paid at work for the time served, but so very interesting to see how the court system world works, WITHOUT being the one directly involved.

Hey Cutie I'm gonna say this. It's too early to predict. None of the players have played together or even met during this long gruesome off season. Found out that my job today involves pressing a button once every 10 minutes for the test I'm running. Still not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. The one bad thing that I do have to deal with is that I have to walk to the front of the building to refresh my c-blog.page.
So far I'd say that the my cousin vinnie signing is the smartest thing the Oren & Lennie show has done, although I still question how smart it was to pay him that much when he hits his late 30s.

I believe a while back staff said they would do something if Pens re-signed Kris Beech. Anyone remember?
I watched the on the record vid this morning. It's so funny when they ask him if he has a drug problem he totally gets uncomfortable. It's sad really.

Wasn't Beech's contract a two-way deal anyway? Unless the Pens lose about 7 forwards to injury simultaneously, I doubt anyone except the good people in Wilkes-Barre will be watching Mr. Beech fail on a regular basis.

Original Nathan is absolutely right. Beech was signed as a stopgap in case of injury or someone needing rest, nothing more. He won't fuck up aything for more than a game or two. I really believe in case of long term injury, they'll call up Minard or James or someone.
