The new cool thing to do in the media?
Blast Mario Lemieux for no reason.
Next up, the wildly untalented Ron Cook.

[The return of Jschiff]
He throws Buries It under the bus in a column about Bing. [PG]
Scott Burnside, a national columnist for ESPN.com, chided Mario Lemieux in a piece Tuesday for hiding in seclusion and not doing more to sell the NHL during the Cup final. Burnside took a beating from Penguins fans, but he was right on with his criticism. Lemieux's public-relations stance always has been a matter of convenience -- his.
Ron Cook writes for the Post Gazette every week. And all of sudden because ESPN blasts Lemieux, he does the same? Why say something like that?
You'd think Cook would stick up for Lemieux.
After all, he sure gave him stuff to write about over the years. Like this [600 word lovefest] back in 2001.
But no, Ron Cook is a coward. Cook also blasted 66 in a TV appearance to drive the point home.
Dick.

We don't know what the big deal is about Mario not acquiescing to media requests.
Pensblog's own Marty the Chicken put in a request on Friday, and it was granted.

You are a beast

I know.

So, how does it feel to be on the owner side of the SCF?

Any SCF I've been in, I've owned, so it's nothing new to me.

Sidney Crosby lives with you. Tell us it's like a sitcom.

It's more of a reality show called "He Lives With Me. The Media Covered This Two Years Ago."

That's a pretty long title.

what

Listen, Buries It, this interview isn't about you.
It's about me touching myself when I tell my colleagues that I interviewed you.

okay

As a player, you were always available for interviews.
In your retirement as a non-player, you haven't been as available.
What gives?

The operative word is "retirement."

Oh, but you were available when you wanted an arena for your team.

Yeah, that was kind of a big deal.

And the SCF Finals isn't a big deal?
You're a hockey legend. Why haven't you had more of a presence in these Finals?

I'm the owner of the team now.
Yeah, it's a good story and all.
The ironic part is all you got to tell people is that I'm a former player who is now the owner.
Anything following that, I look like I crave the attention.

Then why did you agree to this interview?

Because chickens don't get much respect in the journalistic community.
And I was hoping I could get some free candy out of this.

A-ha! So it is all about you!

You would be surprised what some people would do for free candy.

true

Listen, chicken, you media types can't play both sides.
You call me out, saying I only grant media requests when it benefits me.
But then you conveniently ignore the thought that me granting requests during the SCF would benefit me.
I've raised a lot of money for my charity during these SCF by opening the Mellon for away games.
You can't say that I'm all about myself when I say I don't want any piece of the spotlight.
It doesn't make any sense.

That rant just cost you a Tootsie Roll

Colonel Sanders just called.
Your mom is dead.

Go Pens

180 comments:
FIRST thing I'm doing when I get to Pittsburgh tomorrow is getting a big fat Primanti's sammich.
Then I'm heading to the North Lot for tailgateblog.
If you see a jobber with a filthy, yellow Pens hat holding a cane... you've found me.
Say hello.
"Let's Go Pens!!!"
"You weren't put on this Earth to get it, Mr. Burton."
Go Pens
"When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
LETS GO PENS
Leaving for the airport, be in Pittsburgh by noon.
Let's go Pens!
Leaving Northern VA now will be in the upper lot
If you see a drunk guy in a pens jersey come say hi
staying in NJ
will be in pittsburgh for game six.
that's right. i said it.
we're winning this game tonight.
LETS GO PENS!
yay i get to fly all day.
tgblog -nobody cares, but i think ill have on my black pens practice jersey, no pants (just kidding), probably beer (most likely in both hands), and free candy (for all you kiddies!)
FREE??
CANDY!
go pens.
That Marty the chicken interview is the greatest thing since Jesus invented sex. Or so the story goes, as I understand it.
And I declare this right now: If you go with Jack Burton and John McClane, the Penguins will be undefeated next year.
"Yippe-kay-yay-motherfucker!"
"Let's see you take this under advisement, jerkweed!"
And of course..
"Feel pretty good. I'm not, uh, I'm not scared at all. I just feel kind of... feel kind of invincible. "
"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, 'Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it.'"
"All I know is, this Lo Pan character comes out of thin air in the middle of a goddamn alley while his buddies are flying around on wires cutting everybody to shreds, and he just stands there waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him with *light* coming out of his mouth!"
Big Trouble in Little China may be, in fact, the greatest movie ever made.
If ron cook likes pee, then boob smizik must like...
POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!
Smizijoke is well...a joke.
Even Gene Collier seems to have lost the plot recently.
Maybe if the Pens signed Rashard Mendenhall, life would be better.
Staal
Sorry, had to do that.
Ron Cook is a douche. Not one of those fancy douches they sell in France, either. He's one of those off-brand douches they have at the dollar store.
I think Robert Stack needs to be called up to the big leagues. Just him bringing the creepy music would be worth it.
Dammit. I waited up so long for this damn post! It had to be posted within 15 minutes of me going to sleep! Hah.
tornadowatchblog
How fun.
WWGRD Wallpapers I made:
--Original Widescreen
--Regular Resolution
This damn thunder and lightening is keeping me awake. I probably shouldn't be on here right now with this storm the way it is. Oh well. As soon as it's over it's backtosleepblog for me.
Anyone watch the reruns of Home Improvement on Nick at Nite or TBS? They were doing that marathon on Nick at Nite all week. I love that show. It was funny seeing Tim with his Red Wings shirts or jerseys on.
Any chance of signing Reggie Dunlop?
Dammit, I was going to hit everybody up with the "check's in the mail" Jack Burton quote but ry beat me to it. Lots of other Jack Burton quotes, too.
Staff, does that tell you anything?
The Marty The Chicken interview was a masterful piece of satire. I laughed my ass off but it should completely hit home for so-called "journalists." Well done staff, well done. [slow clap]
Game four tonight... WOOOOOOOOOOO!
Colonel Sanders called. Your mom is dead. I lost my morning coffee.
Hey Chicken! 66 Buries it.
That Marty the Chicken-Mario interview is why I love The Pensblog.
Ruutu using free candy in a TV interview is why I love the Pens and The Pensblog.
@Sooksa
Agreed. I just about wet myself when I read that line. That one line should be a candidate for the Conn Smythe.
SI Sportsnation is a joke anyway. I don't even know why people read stuff that's posted there. All I've ever read has been complete trash.
@smitty - Reggie Dunlop would have been perfect in game 1.
"It's their rink, it's their ice, and it's their fuckin' town. But tonight we got our fans with us! "
definitely gotta go with john mcclane!
yippie-kay-yay motherfucker!
Cook and Smizik probably tough each other in the hot tub at night. Speaking of that douche, where is Smizik's indignation that Cook would blast a local legend in the media?
Since 66 is not a Steeler like Rooney, Myron, or Whines Hard I guess nobody cares.
Let's Go Pens!
"Any SCF I've been in, I've owned, so it's nothing new to me." - made me laugh out loud at work.
Cast my vote for Dr. Alan Grant.
-He left us! He left us!
-But that's not what I'm gonna do!
Freakingmonsoonblog
Mario Lemieux could single-handedly kill 3 or 4 small children and on the whole, he would still have done more good for this city than bad.
After saving the team 3 times (1 with the cups, 1 with the purchase, 1 with the arena), 690some career goals, helping make the team what it is today, you would THINK him wanting some "privacy" wouldn't send these bastards off the deep end.
The cup finals is about the players, not the owners. With that even said, even if they wanted both owners to do something, I have no problem with them turning it down. Go interview Free Candy about "the shift" for Gods sakes.
Hate the media
Nic Cage! Yes!
of course everyone in detroit has tv's, they stole them all!
Wow, it's raining so hard I'm afraid that Carlisle = Myanmar. I hope our mayor lets relief workers in.
Slow moring, so I re-read the CLASSIC tPB Conklin vs. MAF trial transcript. Love it when Marty interviews MAF's water bottle and Charlie goes to recess with the Senators...
@bng66, get healthy - you don't have anything related to Cotton Eye Joe, do you?
Ruutu mentioning free candy? Lord Gary feeling the love? Wow, what an impact tPB has had this season!
T-minus 9.5 hours.
PB Staff -
In all sincerity, you guys absolutely outdid yourselves with that Lemieux-Marty interview. That thing is sheer genius on so many levels...the "jobbing the mainstream media" equivalent of a Geno Malkin Fuck You Sandwich.
That's one of the reasons why I'd much rather get my Pens discussion from blogs. You don't get unbridled satire like that in the mainstream media.
Speaking of that douche, where is Smizik's indignation that Cook would blast a local legend in the media?
Since 66 is not a Steeler like Rooney, Myron, or Whines Hard I guess nobody cares.
Johnny, whenever Mark Madden turns up again, we need to forward this to him and let him run with it. Whatever anyone's opinions on Madden might be, Johnny is dead on right here about the hypocrisy that exists amongst these clowns.
screw ron cook...the pensblog is the only pittsburgh media that matters
Robert Stack, no doubt.
Why isn't Batman a prospect?
"It's their rink, it's their ice, and it's their fuckin' town. But tonight we got our fans with us! "
game 1? I say Dunlop gets the start for game 5.
@j.s. - Reg Dunlop is a great idea for Game 5.
@ m vanderlasser- I waved to you as PensBob and I went thru Carlisle last night.
@bng66 where ever you are- You have had a tough playoff run. Hang in. We need you.
The "media" can no longer think for themselves -they rely on press conferences and interviews. They are the biggest band waggoners of all. Chs. 4 & 11 hardly mention hockey and now suddenly they are dancing with the Cup. One of them gets an idea and they all jump on Mario's back and ride him like Kasparaitis did in the 93 Isles series. Even though he is retired from the ice he still has to carry the guys hanging on his back through his daily life. Mario owes no one-least of all the media.
You know, your son looks like a fag to me. You better get remarried again or he's gonna have someone's cock in his mouth before you can say Jack Robinson.
Yeah, Reg could get the job done.
And did everyone take notice of how BNG66 does it? He makes the first comment, but he actually SAID something.
@pitthockey,
I was just about to ask about the Joker
j.s. - I didn't want to put the cart before the horse. Besides, he's not in the system as far as I know and it's after the trade deadline.
John McClane = BEAST
LETS GO PENS!!!!!!
Great clutch interview with Mario. You know, I was just saying to myself the other day that this Stanley Cup Finals won't be all it can be unless I see an extended interview with Mike Ilyitch, the Little Caesar's guy.
STOOSH! I'm glad you still acknowledge the "Fuck You Sandwich." That makes my heart happy.
I also like how Alan Muir says you can "make book on" the series going five games.
Who the hell does he think his readers are-- Janet Gretzky?
A few other possible tPB prospects: Jason Bourne, Gob Bluth, Lee Marvin (from The Dirty Dozen), Steven McCroskey ("looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue...")...
jimmy, technically he is a free agent, which should make him eligible but I don't think he'd be able to have his name on the cup.
Other ideas for prospects -
Rip Torn "Dodgeball"
Snake Plissken
John Goodman
Short Round
I'd like to see a WIlliam Wallace Game Day Post. If that doesn't fire you up, then i don't know what will.
LET'S GO PENS!
slapshotblog
The Speech
Orpik may have watched this before game 3.
I think this is my favorite scene in the movie.
j.s. - If he starts game 5 he can... I think.
I don't know the respective farm systems that well, but some thoughts on who we could trade for to increase our own.
- Sean Connery (circa "The Rock")
- Russell Crowe or Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man)
- Ian McKellan (LoTR- woo geekness)
- Sam Jackson/John Travolta (Pulp Fiction)
That's all I got off the top of my head (I'm doubting Squeak Scolari in the pineapple suit on the malakalaka board would send the right message, and Boston's probably got the Boondock Saints locked up til 2844)...but just a thought. Anyone else?
@ bng66 -
Godspeed and get well soon.
Personally, I won't believe anything about Homstrom until I see that his goofy as is in at suit at 8:00PM tonight. And you know what? If he does play, I hope Gill unloads on him constantly. I hope that Gill just is constantly dropping the hammer on him. You might need to buckle that chinstrap tonight, Tomas. It is not going to aid you in your question to draw calls and you are gonna need some protection from the USS Gill.
Man, I am fired up.
Go Pens!
stoosh, I don't know if you went back & re-read late night cblog, but my votes for closest to Gary-ish love in a short time are:
Mike Diaz -Pirates- 247 games
Ron Duguay -Penguins- 53 games
I just realized, that this COULD be the last game I attend and see a certain #10 in action....[unless some tix, WHEN GAME 6 IS PLAYED HERE, magically land in my lap] [sadblog]
here's what he looked like as a sweet little 18 year old....I believe the 'LOOK' took over soon after this pic was taken.
The Genesis of Gary Roberts
I copied part of the Misc. section over on cblog last night....the part that starts out: Although Roberts broke his thumb in seven places....
Sorry, I'm going off the board:
Vincent Vega + Jules Winnfield
[Hossa: Ezekiel 25:17.....And you will know I am the GARY when I lay my vengeance upon you...]
J.S. & Jimmy: He is a free agent, but if he would get a spot start for Game 5 he would most certainly get his name on the Cup. You just need the one start. Yeah, I know that's not what you asked but I wanted to get that out anyway, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!
We like our crowd.
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!
@Sooska and other well-wishers: See that FIRST comment at the top? That was made when I came home from the ER last night in the Monsoon that is now, or just has passed through where most of yinz are.
It was a futile effort as I was given something for the long term... but nothing for the pain.
But I honestly thought to myself: WWGRD?
Pain sucks... sure. But adrenaline cures everything!
Leaving in an hour. We're staying by the ballpark, but probably parking in the North Lot for some tailgateblog action.
Again, yellow hat... and a CANE and that's me sitting next to a grey Ford Focus.
Fuck the rain.
Fuck the pain.
Let's Go Pens!!!
stokes - William Wallace = CLUTCH!
bng66 - That does answer the question, but it does pose another; Is your cane a sweet-ass pimpin' cane?
Oh snap. I think I need to add that old picture of him to my WWGRD Wallpaper.
We're on our way!!!!! Leaving Mechanicsburg now. Got the signs in window, the beer in the cooler, the iPod tunes set to the Penguins Playlist. Tailgating behind the church next to the wall if anyone wants to stop by and say hello!
LET'S GO PENS!
@jimmy hugs
and it BETTER be striped up like a CANDY CANE --- Where's bng66-o?
BNG left for the game I do believe. Damnit if I don't have a single friend who wants to go tonight i'm gonna be pissed off!
Marty interview was epic.
Hacksaw MUST be re-signed. No one wants to see him go to a conference or division rival next season.
@rachele - I'd be your friend and go, but I'm stuck in Va Beach for the duration of my enlistment.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2008/columns/story?columnist=buccigross_john&id=3419326
Amazing article by John Buccigross.
His description of driving through the Fort Pitt tunnels gave me chills.
@bigradzz88 - I love bucci because he is one of the few writers that seem to just want to spread goodwill and love for the game, not try to make themselves famous or create controversy. I think he would fit in at cblog very well.
@rachel
sorry for the confusion...I was playing the Where's Waldo? card for BNG66 if he has a Red & White Candy Cane-cane.....
Motivation?
Well I figured I'd be the only one suggesting an addition to the Gameday roster. Guess not.
Oh well, no matter. Haven't seen him mentioned yet. So, staff, ya gotta sign this guy .
Badass.
They might not have hockey experience, but I heard they are anxious for a move overseas...
What about these guys?>
What's the rule on Females getting a contract?
I ask because I'd follow this woman to victory any day!
ok maybe he didn't leave lol.
We need Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu: Pissed.
Tonight's game will be the 66th consecutive sellout.
Do it.
You could also go with: WWNPHD
and then the rains came to nyc.
i have turned everything off in the apartment as there is nothing on TV. thank gary for the rain, though. we sure needed it.
come on, 8pm
what about denzel fron training day or man on fire?
in man on fire, he just blew stuff up for like 2 straight hours. awesome
Okay. Last one from me.
Mellon Arena's Steel Jesus.
after just paying my CapOne bill...
hows bout...
Capital One Card Lab Guy minus the evil breath stealing kittens in that pic.
I'm an idiot.
I've been saying North Lot for like three days now.
I think I meant East Lot.
I. Am. A. Jobber.
See yinz there.
Sh0ez, you want to go to the Mellon on Monday? .....since you won't respond on AIM, meathead.
I was just offered free STP tix for tonight
and turned them down because of the Pens game.
I am the Stanley Cup Final
Neil Patrick Harris stole that unicorn from Kris Drapers farm
@xuschbuperhasdfhgbmn: We've waited 9 years to dance with STP again.
16 years to dance with Lord Stanley.
Good call.
Directionsblog:
Only in Pittsburgh can you have directions that tell you to take a street (6th) then get off that street (onto Liberty) then back on to 6th and it actually makes sense.
Leaving soon.
Let's Go Pens!!!
Talk about a song to get you pumped up...
Vasoline
at first the wife couldnt believe i passed up free tix to a concert just to watch a sporting event on tv
but then she remembered who she's marrying.
Hey Sh0ez, Is that a Who Would Neil Patrick Harris Do?
I think the answer is obvious.
@Colin
rockin out to it now. great song for an 8 hour pregame
DietCokethroughthenoseontoscreen with the Marty/66 interview. Great stuff Staff!
Looks like it might be just me and Jimmy Hugs and hopefully Carroll here in Cblog. Hug each other for me when yinz get to tailgateblog, m'kay?
And as a member of the XX community, I have to give my vote and support to Ripley; but she might be best used for maybe a game 6 or 7. She should be added to the list for consideration however...she's one bad ass bitch.
Oh, and in case you want to see the suits that Carroll and I have been talking about, at least one good thing came from going over to SI this morning.
DonCherrySuitblog
STPblog
Amazing. That's all I have to say.
jooseblog
You have my answer on AIM. Is anyone from cblog planning on going to Game 5?
@ stokes
Who or What works. Ha ha. He makes the Harold and Kumar movies.
Great find, chica!
Do it.
stp is definitely amazing. any other night and id be there. not tonight. gary forgive me, not tonight!
i might go to game 5...at least parking is free for away games.
@ xuscbausp -
While we are on the topic of Scott Weiland...
Dirty Little Thing
Great jam.
i never got into VR
i dont know why but i just never did. probably be one of those bands that i like five years after the fact. ha.
You know, i've gotta be honest. I might go see STP just to see them. But, i just don't really get into them all that much. I think they've got some killer riffs (like Vasoline, Sex Type Thing, or even Tripping on a Hole...) but their drummer is pretty average and if you take away Weiland, i.e. Talk Show, they're a pretty average band.
I'm not going to ignore their impact on music in the 90's. It was pretty big. They sold a shit load of albums for a reason. But I just never got into them.
Just my two cents....
@chica
I'll be around until six or so, but I'm going to watch the game at the bar with some of my peeps. Cblog might be a solo adventure for you tonight.
@ Stokes -
I feel the same way. They have some songs that a really dig. But some others just leave me like, meh. I wasn't crazy 'bout VR but I really like that song.
Do it Pens!
Since we're on concertblog, I must say that Pearl Jam at the Mellon 2 years ago was one of the best shows I've ever been to.
Fine! I see how you all are! Leave me here all alone!
I keed! I keed! lol
But, if anyone is going to be around, I'll be back here in ChatBlog, which will hopefully be GamePostblog, around 4 Pacific/7 Eastern.
Dr. Cox is wearing his WIngs jersey on Scrubs right now and i want to punch my TV.
Jawsh: I've seen PJ twice at the PGP, twice at the Igloo and once in The Q in Cleveland. While I agree that the show at the Igloo in '06 was their best i've seen, i've also never seen a bad PJ show. WHAT. A. BAND.
Colin: i wasn't crazy about VR either. But their riffs were solid as hell. I like riffs, hence my absolute LOVE of Zeppelin.
@ stokes: Same feeling I had while watching Home Improvement.
@ chica: I may or may not be in chatblog (for the first time!) tonight.
dr. cox, like gary, is just too much man. in fact, id like somebody to photoshop a pic of him wearing buries it. thatd be a great free agent pickup.
best concert ever=rhcp
dr. cox....would be solid...he needs to jump ship.
I think the Peppers have been to PGH twice maybe. I've never seen them, but i could see them being an absolutely KILLER show....
Dr. Cox makes that show. i love it. except his Wings jersey.
im saying; i heard that dr cox is a free agent now that scrubs has moved to ABC.
tpb should look into this
His son calls him Pewwy
jawsh and stokes-
That PJ show was amazing! You guys going to any of the upcoming east coast dates? Im going to the June 20th show. We werent quick enough on the draw for MSG. Damn you tenclub and your crashing website! *sigh
this scrubs episode is without question one of the best ones
I vote John McClane as a TOP Top Tippy TOP prospect.
I mean, come on I'm naming my first born son after the guy.
GO PENS.
FYI: It would seem that Comedy Central is having a Scrubs marathon today.
Couple that with the eventual Pens victory tonight and this may be one of the greatest days ever.
Slush: None of the dates were either close enough or on the weekends(that i can remember anyway). Oddly enough, I've never joined the Ten Club, but i do have a giant tatoo of the Alive Guy on my calf.
Why does Darren McCord get no love as a potential starter? I mean, the man stepped in to play goal in the critical game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals, saved the Vice President from terrorists, and crashed a helicopter onto Mellon Arena ice - all in the same night!
haha hughjackmanblog on scrubs.
BAM!
WW: And I see a whole army of my teammates, here in defiance of The Red Wings. You've come to fight as Penguins... and Penguins you are. What will you do with that one win? Will you continue to play?
Play and you may lose. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell The Red Wings that they may take two games, but they'll never take... OUR CUP!
[Penguins army cheers]
my tailgateblog-
i typically can be found in the east lot right above the handicap rope-off thingy. i'm in a white roberts jersey today. ron francis #9 has been scratched thanks to the first two losses of the series.
see yinz 'round the igloo 'n at.

shoez- you win every time!

Ha ha thanks. I just get so bored.
when im finished with my work im gonna search for a more badass pic of dr cox. i know theres an episode where they talk about sign language and he says "i only know when sign" and then he glares and points right at the camera. thatd be an awesome pic.

shoez, jawsh's mind = blown
Slush, me and a buddy got tickets for the DC show but now he's begging for both to impress his new lady, a pj fanatic.
That's Hossome, Sh0ez.
the fugitive is on tnt. great after scrubs programming
If anyone more talented than myself is up for it....
This is begging for a Photoshop>
if only i had the talent, jawsh.
@ jawsh: Done
Dr. Cox Flashes Pens Shirt
sh0ez buries it
Lategettingupthismorningonthewestcoastblog --
I didn't know SI still wrote about sports. Guess I was right.
66 buries Marty in that interview! Amazing.
Everyone going to Pittsburgh -- wave to the North Side. That's where my family lives. God, do I miss that place. Especially during times like this.
My votes for John MacLane. Running barefoot through glass shards just shows what kind of force he is.
I won't be on cblog durng the game. Can't steal anyone's wireless in my apartment (damn suspicious neighbors and their password protection) and it's the night for me to stay in and watch -- haven't watched any games back to back in the same location and at least one of the first two home games must be watched at home. Don't want to mess with the mojo. That happened last weekend with the first two games due to family commitments. Never again.
I'll be popping in and out throughout the day. Be safe with taligateblog, have fun and Let's Go Pens!!!!
I added some wrinkle lines.
NEW
sh0ez - you make Gary proud
a plus effort again sh0ez.
@chica - I will be around for chatblog - I will not leave you all alone! Who else would discuss Don Cherry's clothing with me.
I still think pic #1 would make a nice purse or pair of shoes (ballet flats perhaps). Maybe use his green jacket from game 2 to make a dress. Just don't use any of his hats as inspiration!
@ everyone - have fun at tailgateblog!!!
@ BNG - hope you are feeling better today!!
I know this is a pretty huge day for hockey and all, but I just noticed in the episode this morning what Turk and Carla have hanging in their apartment.
Shot 1
Shot 2
Shot 3
They're from the episode My Bright Idea, when Turk finds out Carla's pregnant before she does.
Yay Carroll!
I'm heading out the door, going to brave the SuperWalmart for provisions for this evening's game.
Any suggestions? After 66 talked about KFC, fried chicken sounds kinda good. :)
What, no love for James Dalton?
He ripped the dude's throat out with his bare hands!!!
100% Jack Burton.
SOLID FUCKING GOLD JOHNNY V!! you got yourself some eagle eyes or something.
Leaving now.
LET'S GO PENS.
chica - KFC is never a good thing, you will miss most of the game because you'll be in the bathroom.
Not sure what to have for dinner. My usual did not work in game 1/2, game 3 was taco night at babysittingblog.
I am thinking ribs or sausages.
OK, so the clip I chose is in German...whatev...
I just got back from Sam's Club. (I know I'm the oldest 23 yo I know.) but I was just jobbing around in my Malkin jersey with my wife who was wearing her Malkin t-shirt, and I probably got 6 "Go Pens!" yelled at me. Great stuff. There are Pens fans in Harrisburg, you just have to look hard for them.
@wilsmith - you make solid points brother.
Loved the Buries It interview. That shit is why I come here.
Prospectsblog:
I was thinking about some people we might wanna look at in the draft this year: I think Call it, Friendo is just too fucking creepy, even in desperate times, but this guy might be someone to watch. Proven winner.
what about jean luc picard for a prospect?
One other thing:
The playoffs are a battle of attrition. You play through pain every second. For anyone who hasn't quite realized it, BNG is dealing with some significant stuff and he's battling through to be there for the Pens and represent at tailgateblog.
BNG = cblog MVP.
My sentiments exactly re: BnG
I'm leaving soon, gotta pick up some packages for a friend in the southside. Then it's over tenth street bridge to mario lemieux place to tailgateblog i goooooo
Sing it in your head
mmmmmm... tacoblog... :drools:
James Dalton = solid
This girl talks about what she would do if Jokestrom gets into Flower's kitchen.
What an interview!!! I should be around C-blog during the game too. Lets Go Pens!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Let it be known that jyo's cblog avatar was the jersey I used for Dr. Cox.
i wont be around cblog during the game. the pens are undefeated when ive been at my failsafe location and im not tempting fate. ill be with you in spirit, cbloggers.
love dr.cox and scrubs, hands down best show on tv. however, me and my sister were having a discussion yesterday abouth him being a wings fans and she remembered something that made me sad....dr. cox is from pittsburgh!!!! but he is always wearing wings jerseys...i feel like someone might need to write to the show and ask for him to jump ship to his hometown!
@ xuscbausp, wow that sucks dude! STP is AMAZING. i might be the biggest STP fan around, but reading about your dilemna made me realize that if i had to offered the tickets i probably would have to turn them down as well. i think the music part of me just died alittle...
i agree with Colin that we should consider the boston boys.
3 hours!!!!!!
wish i felt a little better and wasn't still in my pj. bng66 i wish i had your Garyness right now...
LETS GO PENS
you make my day.
gosh im freaking out it's 81 degrees im sweating my ass off and suppose to be leaving for the game but someone doesn't know how to answer their phone.
yes im freaking out
well cblog, its about time i take care of some things before heading out.
it's must win: part II and im going to say the same thing i said on wednesday.
the pens are winning this game tonight.
i can't wait to be back in pittsburgh on wednesday for game six.
gary be with you. gary be with us all.
let's go pens!!!!!!!
Hi guys, been out all day. Thought I'd so some surfing to see if there was any Holmstrom news. Apparently he's gonna be a game time decision. Took the morning skate and felt "ok". We'll see.
If he can't go they say it will be McCarty added to the line up with Cleary moving up to the Z/Dats line. I'm certainly hoping he's able to go, but only if he can give a maximum effort.
I won't job you guys by saying "GO WINGS", but I'm really thinking it {go wings, go wings, go wings}.
Hey, everyone be safe to and from their game viewing tonight. I'm looking forward to more great photoshoping tomorrow.
{go wings}
Dr. Cox ain't the only Pittsburgh native on TV. David Boreanaz's military-sniper-turned-FBI-agent Booth (of Bones) is a Pittsburgher, and he knows how to decorate his house.
(Speaking of badassery, The Bourne Identity is on USA right now.)
I know I'm not around very often, but I'm reporting in to note that I'm headed out to the game wearing my undefeated (4-0) Pens hat. Victory will be ours.
Why do I go grocery shopping on a Saturday when it's the last/first of the month? I'll never learn I guess.
Since take out worked the other night, we're going sort of take out...Seafood salad from the store deli.
Everyone be safe on the way to the temple tonight.
@pensgirl -- David B. was born in Buffalo and grew up in Philly but his family has close ties o Pittsburgh and the Rooneys. He actually served as a ball boy for the Steelers for part of a season. I've been a huge fan of his since the Buffy and Angel days and love Bones. His character on Bones is supposedly from Pittsburgh and the Lemieux jersey that was in an a epi a few weeks ago was in keeping line with his character. He is a Cryers fan first, (he was the NHL celebrity blogger for the Flyers) but has said he loves the Penguins, too, because of his Pittsburgh connection and being born and raised in PA.
It's thunderstorming like crazy right now up in Western MA. There's hail the size of peas coming down.
BRING IT!
Yeah, Katie, I was a big fan of Buffy and Angel. I know all about David.
The PG media acts like it's teething and on its period at the same time
They can't make up their minds because they haven't got any
bleh
GO PENS!!!!
Goldust and the guy from Unsolved Mysteries are MUSTS for gamedays next season. The easiest way to do it; sometime over the summer, have a poll with these top prospects/suggestions and rotate the top 2 or 3 picks into gamedays. In my opinion, Goldust = money.
Let it be known that jyo's cblog avatar was the jersey I used for Dr. Cox.
I had a hunch that is where it came from. I feel honored to have contributed some small part to an original sh0ez-shop. WOOOOOOOOOO!
Golddust would be solid....but i don't think you can go wrong with Robert Stack...I think thats his name right? haha
@ johnny v,
I also saw that Terrible Towel when the aired the episode today on Comedy Central. Perhaps Dr. Turk will start sporting a Bing jersey so he can job Dr. Cox for wearing the Chellios jersey.
For all of you headed to the Igloo tonight or just watching the game on TV, have a blast and Let's Go Pens!
Oh, and one more thing.
Play 'Boys of Winter'!
@chica Any Octopii in that salad?
@penny: Nope...just shrimps and crabs. Octopi don't taste bad, they're just really chewy.
Maybe I can use some wieners and make some cuts on the bottom to make octodogs. :)
Oh joy, Fedko & the short bus gang, pregame!
Good one Chica! After you cook it put a bent straw in it (for a hockey stick) and it'll look like the Rutuu pic.
As for game day FAs to bring in, here are a couple off the top of my head:
Him
or him
or him
or him
or perhaps him
Fedko = Nails down chalkboard
@ chica- if you have seafood dinner here it is octopus Dee-twaa style:
octopus dinner
@sooska: I saw that picture earlier today. lol It looks pretty good actually. :)
JerseyAdviceBlog:
What do yinz think?
Bibster on the NHL Network pregame with Larry Murphy.
@ chica- it looks like a Game 4 winner to me. side dish of Wings.
@sooska & chica. I think those weinnies need cooked a little longer..........
I'm in for chatblog. For once I'll be home for the game. A friend of mine who gets the games in HD is in the Burgh with the g/f, and all my other options are out on a bachelor party tonight, barhopping the majority of the night. Now you're probably asking "hey j.s., why aren't you out on that party?" Simple answer: priorities. Most of that crowd probably started drinking around 4 or 5, so they'll probably be half-tanked by the time the bus leaves (8PM, shortly before the drop of the puck). My plans are to try catching them later in the night if they haven't wandered too far from town. I generally don't like drinking and driving after only a few drinks, but there's no way I'll do it especially if I'm more than 10 min from home.
t-minus 34 minutes til NBC coverage.
Sooska, I actually have a box of boneless wings in fridge too. Maybe we'll skip the salad....have the octodogs in the first Int; then the wings in the second int.
Bbq or hot sauce? Gotta have the red.
new post is up!
and somehow I posted with my old name.
Oh.....forgot I was responding to 419 scammers and was using my baiting name.
Seeing a scammer address me as "mister don key show" = good for cheap laughs.
If any one wants to watch the Ceeb pregame show it's here...

Thanks Carroll...be there in a minute!
