No, FH, the effort was not fine. I can count on both hands the times the puck went loose and the closest Penguin(s) stood there looking at it. That is a shitty work ethic.
Don't act like everyone who makes a point is some overreacting bridge-jumper. I call what I see on the ice. That period's kudos belong to Fleury.
I felt like both teams were relatively flat. Maybe they just played each other tight, but it seemed like neither team did much, even on the PP. It seemed more like the first period of a first game in a series when the teams are "feeling each other out" rather than a 3-0 series where the home team is supposed to be desperate.
Pensgirl, all I'm saying is that if this is the storm that we had to weather from the Rags. We're in fine shape.

The ice MSG must be awful. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like players are falling all over the place. Plus Malkin and Hossa had a hard time corralling the puck at some points and I don't think it's because they weren't focused.

My dear boy, I never said they were in bad shape. Mine was a pointed criticism - they could be in even better shape if they'd have put some oomph behind their play. It is an improvement they need to make, not a sign of a sinking ship. I fully expect they will be fine, but the first order of business to that end is to play better.
