Thanks to Sean from [ Going Five Hole ] for this swift kick to the balls and ovaries.
Army just looks happily confused.
..........................................................................
If anyone is in the jobbing mood, [ some website ] basically copied and pasted one of our (meaning everyone) photoshop expos without giving any credit as to where it came from.
It looks like some automated site that goes and grabs stuff from the internet.
Their comments are ripe for the picking.
.........................................................................

7:08:18 PM
This went from being some jobber game at the end of February...
to easily one of the most anticipated regular-season games in Penguin history.
At 7:00, FSN will open its broadcast with a shot of Hossa lacing up his skates,
sharing a laugh with Evgeni Malkin.
You'll have roughly 8 minutes to recover from passing out before the opening faceoff.
Word has it Ty Conklin is in net. [PSI]
..............................................................
How pumped is this guy.
He won the million-dollar shot thing last night.
It almost makes up for his last name being "Head"
Thanks to Ashley from [ Faceoff Factor ]
What a moment.
Kevin Lowe was in the building.
Just saying.
..............................
The season starts today. Again.
Only one last thing to do.

Let's kick the tires and light the fires.

I actually vomited in my mouth when I found that pic. Stunned.
I'm sure it'll wear off once Hossa steps on the ice
haha yeah.
Or when Army levels Hossa.
ac
wow that guy is a joke. im sure all the c-bloggers will bombard him with refrences to retards, jobbing, cripples, mud,Gary Roberts, just to name a few.
unreal.
Tonight will change life as we know it. Go Pens
When Will Smith makes an appearance, it's a big deal.
Can you imagine if Armstrong would lay one of hits into Malkin? Me neither, because Armstrong would bounce off him and end up on Grant Street.
I Get To Miss The Game Tonight Because Of Class. My Luck -_-
Yeah, well i get to miss two thirds of this game because of my roommate's play so.. yeah. Eff that
I'm in the burgh tonight. Any cBlog residents going anywhere to watch the game?
Love to hang and meet some cool people.
I think Atlanta picked up Darwin Head off of waivers today...they want him to mentor Crusher and show him how to hit the net.
I like EC, but that was just too easy to pass up.
Whatev.
Hossa.
Will Smith had a decent child molester stache in that pic.....kinda tight
DO IT
Hey Hal Gill, Why don't you take a seat over there
Those Trashers practice jerseys look like something you'd buy in the Clearance Section at Gabriel Brothers.
leaving for the game now
HOSAA
flyerhater...listen to mark madden today?
Who is everyone rooting for tonight? Flyers or Senators?
Too bad they both can't lose.
Sad that you surmise the FSN intro will feature Hossa and Malkin sharing a laugh in some Slovak/Russian hybrid speak. On Army's last Mark Madden interview he mentioned Geno had randomly come up to him and started talking about taking his parents out to lunch after practice... That they were finally friends... *Sigh*
Here's a nice Thrashers blog that gives Army props:
http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/ajc/thrashers/
I don't make it a habit to read other teams blogs but I gotta get my Colby fix from time to time.
DO IT!
hossa
Just watched my local news here in Philadelphia and saw that they were awarded the MLS franchise.
It's a good thing our tax dollars are going to something important right fat ass Rendell??????
They are building the stadium in Chester???? That's like some moron building a stadium in downtown Newark....oh wait....
Let's do this shit!
^ guaranteed victory
Malkin
Hossa
Conklin
and Chris E coming through like clockwork.
Does it get any better than this?
LET'S GO PENS!!!
That video is sweet. way to go mr. D. Head
AndrewS: that's weak. get a set.
LET'S GO PENS!
see you there...
www.gamedaychat.com
Has this been used yet? : The rest of this season will be HOSS-some.
well, i tried gameday chat... didnt work out for me...
Nick, I saw you join. Not sure what the problem was.
Anyone else playing the "take a shot every time Steigy and Errey mention Zdeno Chara is 6'9/tallest player in the NHL" drinking game besides me?...Hal Gill looks verrrry slow
Conklin has been garbage tonight. Trade Hossa, he sucks
It's weird to see him let in a goal like the second one...
Army = -1
Crusher = -1
Best.Trade.Ever.
Hossa for me will always be:
BIG POPPA PUMP
i saw someone on gamedaychat had that sig....sweet
[Hossa]
ConkFog tonight....
MAF...Welcome Back !!!!!!
HOSSA INJURED??? WTF!!!!!!
anybody know what the injury is? the Boston broadcast is only saying he's out with an injury
army just got an assist
Boston broadcast just said "knee/leg injury", his shin pad is off and he is not expected to return
manicdepressantdayblog
...lame
i was out of the room, did he go down on the ice or just leave all of a sudden?
lange just said on the radio he was fighting off the flu before the deadline... but that sounds wrong to me for some reason
Crusher = #9, Colby = #19, just in case anyone was wondering
Hossa out with what looks like to be a bad knee injury, outstanding.
Be ready for Taffe and Talbot on Sid's wing!!
Just left all of a sudden...boston broadcast hasn't shown any replays or anything, so i'm not sure...what's FNSP saying?
he wasn't hit or anything, he just dissapeared off of the bench
potash is interviewing bruins players and about to roll a taped interview with hossa.
good work!
was it after the fourth goal? hopefully just precautionary
Pens radio say's Hossa has a sore right knee. Will not return tonight and will be evaluated.
ugh. hold him out until sunday minimum
ahhhh thats it
took the second replay to even see what they were pointing at, i saw that live and didnt even notice it. hopefully not too bad.
boston broadcast: "sore knee, what could be a mild MCL problem"
me = sick
at least it wasn't a high ankle sprain...so far
how the fuck are they reporting this stuff and fsnp isnt
i cant even watch the rest of this, im sick to my stomach
if it werent for bad luck
This will probably end up as the worst loss since December. A tough game to be sure, but they'll have to bounce back quickly for a huge game Saturday at Ottawa.
If Hossa is out for this weekend, I say, "No big deal." But I'm praying to Gary tonight that it is nothing serious. We need that Atlantic title.
Slight MCL sprain to the right knee, could be out up to a week. It's not the knee that he hurt in juniors.
Whew.
Even if we lose that is only 3 games in the month of February witout getting a point....not too shabby.
On a side note...I'm sick to my stomach....
it's kinda late in the game, but someone started another chat for us to use other than gamedaychat
You can find a group of us chatting here
here's the chat link if the other isn't working...
copy and paste.
http://blackcatpaintball.com/sponsoredteams/submafia/erics_stuff/pensblog/pensblogchat.htm
why does HCMT consistently put out #71 when games are out of reach???...he's done that now for both when the pens are comfortably ahead or too far behind....insane
[Hossa]
PG says Hossa is out a week
could have been much worse
I wouldn't be shocked to see Crosby and Hossa both come back March 9 against the Caps on NBC.
Well, that was a giant load of horsecrap. It seemed like they bought into their own hype so much they forgot they had to, y'know, PLAY. Ugh. Poop sandwich.
At least one new guy got a goal...
grade 1 MCL sprain...what is it with Pens players getting injured?
@flyer hater
guarantees by PGH sports folk don't work against New England based teams....see: Smith,Anthony
just messin' with ya
[Hossa]
Kickinthenutsblog
I swear this franchise is cursed. Last year it was the whole arena saga, this year it's the constant injuries to key players. When will everything just come together?
/fantasyblog
Hossa? ROFL. Should have stuck with what we had that worked for us.
Just to pass some info along,
TSN originaly said Grade 1 MCL injury...
http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/kneeinjuries/a/mclinjury.htm
Not trying to job anyone here, as a Sabres fan I was hoping you could take care of Boston for us. I mean, we need the help.
Hope Hossa is back on the ice in no time...
Wow...L-A-M-E
Does our coaching staff have amnesia?
Only about a week or so ago the Bruins played exactly the way they did tonight. Even the janitors knew what to expect. Yet, we played right into their style of game and changed NOTHING.
Our forecheck sucked, our backcheck sucked, we got beaten to most lose pucks and when we did get there, we got double or triple-teamed and knocked right off of it.
On top of all that, we left our goalies hang out to dry.
Meanwhile, we allowed an offense that is like an outhouse look good by letting them to skate right in and take any shot they wanted to.
Motivation shouldn't be a factor at all when you've got the chance to take the lead in your division.
Grade I MCL Tear
This is an incomplete tear of the MCL. The tendon is still in continuity, and the symptoms are usually minimal. Patients usually complain of pain with pressure on the MCL, and may be able to return to their sport very quickly. Most athletes miss 1-2 weeks of play.
Bigtradeitis, this happens so often. When you make a huge deal at the deadline, the first game with that acquisition is usually garbage. I guarantee you that we come to play on Saturday even without Hossa.

After firing their coach and then losing to Philly tonight....so will Ottawa!
Anyone know what the final score of the Mt Lebanon -vs- Bethel Park outdoor game was?
I knew it was a bad idea to NOT opt for the extended warranty on Hossa.
Armstrong = 1 point, Hossa = Injured.
atleast Doopy scored. We got some offense out of the trade, right?
ugh. vomitblog.
fuck the loss. whatever. shit happens. cant win 82 games, but losing hossa, even if its for a fucking minute, thats just insanely bad luck. i cant believe this shit is happening. i swear, if i wake up tomorrow and one week turns into out for the season, i will forever remember this trade as pure shit.
fuck it. saturday, ottawa. charlie better be hiding in Ottawa's lockerroom, ready to play his part. we need a W, and get this shit on a roll.
hal gill was slow and left 2 guys wide open in front of the net that directly resulted in 2 goals..dont like him already
Hal Gill was putrid, Rob Scuderi with a hook on his hand could have done a better job. He makes Derian Hatcher look like Bobby Orr.
worst game I've ever been to in my LIFE.
wow.
hall gill seemed absolutely worthless, hossa was mediocre.
luckily this is just a bump in the road.
moving on.
Hey, just checking in here.
I'm the one that made the new game chat, for the ones that were wondering. Feel free to get in contact with me with suggestions.
Game Chat
I also post some photoshops regularly, I just don't ave the time to keep up w/ C-blog.
Army and Crusher, combined -4. I'd rather have had an injured Hossa and Dupuis with his goal tonight than that "dynamic" duo.

that is EXACTLY what I thought as I watched the game.
where do I send anthem photos?
take a chill pill, peeps
getting on Hal Gill 48 hours after being traded????
this guy just started practicing / playing with a new team, new system, new d-partner ?????
the boys were just FLAT tonight...ALL.OF.THEM.
that would be like getting on MAF for letting in those last 2 goals after missing 2 months
let's just wipe this one from our memories & pick up the pieces in OTT
MAF I had no problem with.
Gill was failing to use BASIC defensive moves.
people just skated right by him and he would spin in circles like a turnstile.
wow...Brad Richards in Dallas tonight had 5 assists
flyer hater would expect that EVERY night from him if he were a Guin
hehehe
@pitthockey
all that I saying is...give the guy a few games in a Penguin uniform before he gets labeled as 'terrible', 'horrible' or 'the worst'...
turk: I'm going to, but he better improve.
only positive I saw was that he was able to jump and grab the puck out of the air when it was 2 feet above him.
@pitthockey...did you get that email????
thepensblog@gmail.com in case you didn't

I don't think he played any worse than the rest of the team or the rest of our defense.
Bruins forwards were able to skate right in on our goalies while they backed-up all the way until the Bruin decided to shoot. All our defense offered to defend them was a little swing of the stick as they shot. It wasn't even like anyone had to deke our guys at all. Completely unmolested....
good to see some people throwing the new guys under the bus after one game when people gave army two seasons of underperforming and act like its a travesty he got traded
what little of the game that i saw-most of the first and all of the third- they looked out of it and lazy. not too mention MT started the game breaking up the malone-malkin-sykora line. Plus, with Scuds out and Gill in, you've got two new defensive tandems that are feeling each other out on the ice. In short, as uninspired and lazy as the Pens looked tonight, i'm not worried. i dont even care that much. you're not going to win every game, you know?
I am pissed about Hossa. i mean, seriously....seriously?! WTF?
Conkin didnt have a great night. again, not worried about that either.
So i watched the game at Howler's in Bloomfield tonight and i basically wanted to kick everyone's ass there. Some jobber next to me was just a complete douche bag. His inablility to comprehend anything and mind his own business made watching the game insufferable. The guy on the left of us was hammered and couldn't say simple words like bartender and beer. The bartender was a moron. This is almost verbatim the convo i had with him:
BT: if you get hurt you're not playing hard enough. (In reference to Hossa)
ME: have you ever played hockey?
BT: a little. long time ago.
ME; How bout i bash your knee against mine and see how that feels?
BT: uh.....Crosby got hurt on that one play.
ME: Yeah because Crosby was stupid and didnt pay attention. Have a nice night.
Sorry, i had to share that with some hockey people. Which leads me to my next point. i dont mind band wagoners as long as they don't speak like experts on the game that they just started watching and they actually try to GET the game instead of being cliche about everything hockey they've ever read, heard, etc. I'm not hockey expert myself, but i'd like to think i have at least more than a clue about it.
.........
if today was the first day of the season again, then i'm actually kind of glad.
the only way we can go is up.
and we made it this far without hossa. he was mud, but it's no reason for ya'll to throw in the towel on the season.
there is still plenty of hockey left to play.
I was watching the TSN feed of the game tonight, and they said that Bryan Murray was trying to pull off an interesting deal the other day:
Gerber and Emery for Khabibulin and Lalime.
How crazy a deal would that have been?!?
thanks for being sane mike... i agree.
im fucked up right now, but i think were gonna shock the world in a month.
haha i wish we got richards though... jesus h.
oops sorry for the blasphomey... i meant Gary R.
Toughloveblog for some weak-ass fans:
The Pens played shitty D. Not-so-great O and just had a shitty game overall.
But lots of you (not all mind you) are so quick to bitch and moan like they owe you something. Save that shit for the Steelers.
It's a long season... and if you couldn't handle tonight's loss then the grueling March that the Penguins have coming up is gonna kill you.
If you can't shrug off a tough loss then get bent.
Otherwise, rest your voices to cheer like mad at the tv on Saturday against the Sens.
LET'S GO PENS!!!
also, entire team was lacking in hits.
its was just frustrating to be there
i dont know if ill be in the minority here but i actually thought hossa looked good. i dont expect a ton in the first game with one day of practice but his shot is fantastic. sucks the power play never got going though.
but honestly, who was his center this season, holik? he will be better with sid
My girlfriend and I went to tonight's game (we live in Westfield, MA, about 1.5 hours from Boston). We got there just before the National Anthem (I took a pic, but I probably won't bother uploading it considering the results) and left with about 5 minutes left (but I honestly wanted to leave sooner). That makes twice I've gone to see the Penguins in Boston and they've been thrashed. Maybe I'll stay away from now on.
@ mike georger...
I agree. He hit. He backchecked. He forechecked. He passed and he shot pretty well to me!
Dupuis wasn't bad either...he's definitely really FAST and works hard.
I just couldn't figure out why they didn't try to change-up their game to beat that trap more than they did. Give Boston credit though...they played it perfectly and were always in position to pick off passes and playing puck possession very well.
chris, man up.
I stayed the whole time.
you should've gone to the game back in dec.
shootout win. great game overall, malkin almost had his first hat trick.
or the game last year, shootout loss. still a great game.
don't let one game ruin going to future games.
What is it with some of you on cblog lately?
Totally agree with you blackngold66. Please! This is one game. The Pens are an awesome team that sometimes lose. I've never been able to figure out why and I've loved and have watched them for most of my life. I think they should win every game...but is that realistic?
and...
Be careful what you say in cblog...ThePensblog staff has a way to find a comment that is made by some of us going way back...watch what you say one day doesn't bite you in the ass the next. (I remember seeing my stupid comment...something about why would the Penguins want an old guy, like Gary Roberts, for a young defenseman like Noah Welch.) WOW! How stupid was that!
If you begin to doubt, read back posts...like...
this.
have to agree here, it's a shame to see everyone down on the team after a tough loss. we've been there before, we'll bounce back.
Dupuis did look good, and fast as hell. Gill looked a little slow, but didnt stand out so i guess that's a good thing.
Interesting to see if Hossa waits it out and comes back the same time as Sid...
Laraque has taken 3 stupid penalties in the last 2 games. someone get the guy a WWGRD wristband.
checking av...
hmm, the intensity doesn't translate well to small size
I think the problem is we're not mad at the team, we're mad at the expectations we built up for the team.
Now we're all back down to earth.
oh, and this kind of made up for the game:
The future is safe
awwww
even if hossa were out two weeks he would miss six games. hopefully its shorter and he only misses three or four.
but a simultaneous comeback with sid would be great.
