This roller coaster of a season began in the RBC Center.
Fleury was pulled after two periods, after giving up 4 goals.
Sabublog shut the door the rest of the way.
Mark Recchi scored the Pens only goal in a 4-1 slap to the ass.
Then the Canes came to Pittsburgh.
A Pittsburgh shootout win with Sabu in net.
Then they recently pounded on the Canes in Pittsburgh during a 4-1 win.

Sabutage gets the nod tonight.
And Erik Christensen is scratched and may never play again.

Vaclav Prospal is on the outs in tampa for telling his coach to stick it up his ass on television, hes getting a bit older, tampa needs goalie help. send crusher and sabu their way. the way curry is playing there is no justification to put sabu or conklin ahead of him in wbs, stunting his development would be retarded. conklin has done enough to justify staying up and theres very little use having three goalies up, so fuck it why not

wow!...i hate to blame the refs, but that call on staal was terrible
im blaming it on the no call elbow to taffe's face earlier in the game.
Games like this are why the NHL will never be a big national sport again. The officiating is just so putridly awful on some nights. I've been watching hockey for years and I'm almost to the point where I'm fed up and will stop watching. It's so infuriating to lose games based on officiating alone. The calls on Talbot and Staal were just atrocious.
Apparently the crease rule is now in effect again, this is garbage.

first time since dec. 11 that the pens lost 2 games in a row, thro 3 periods of play.
it's going to happen sooner or later...
HOWEVER
some bad calls that really screwed us from having golden power play chance(s) there in the 3rd. can't really blame sabu for the goals they did score because he couldn't even see the puck, mainly cause we were in the box.
nice to see Orpik score. definitely frustration by all the players out there on the ice.
Sidney looked really strong on his skates before the game today. He was pulling some dude with no trouble at all. I wouldn't be shocked to see him back in two weeks. We need him, Roberts, and Fleury back desperately.

Rod the Bod = out 4-6 months
@hip....kinda role-reversal from when the canes played up here....the boys seemed to run out of gas & take some ill advised/timed PIMs + not to sound like a sore loser, but the refs made some questionable calls (& non-calls) that might have helped the guins out a bit
They've played the last two games the way everyone expected them to with Sid out and the injury bug taking it's toll.
We shouldn't be too surprised by that.
They've been playing with so much heart, you just can't keep it up continually.
Give 'em credit for holding the fort and actually putting us on top when everyone in the hockey world thought it was impossible.
What we learned however is that they have that heart and it WILL return!

1st line is bustin' their asses off - the other lines need to step it up so they dont get into penalty situations.

Geno looked, at times, like he was going to break out of his uni and into some purple shorts and green make-up.
seeker: i believe you are correct. but these guys will get their heads together and the heart will come with it. i sincerely hope that they aren't playing some mind games, thinking about how far they've come without Sid, that they can just show up and win(like the 92-93 Pens). I also sincerely doubt that is the case.
Sabu let in some soff goals and also had some *quality* defense in front of him at times, as well. Not totally his fault, but he is still the odd man out.
The refs sucked ass tonight. The people's elbow to Taffe's face non call followed by the Scuds holding call was the epitome of BS. For all the calls the Pens got against the B's, it sure got evened out tonight.
About Rod The Bod: when you get as old as he is, your hips are the first thing to go. Ask my grandma.

I apologize: reports are that Rod The Bod has a torn ACL, and is out for the rest of the season. Heavy blow to a team that already has tons of injuries, which we in the Burgh know all about.

I went to our Local AHL (Lake Erie Monsters) game against Hershey last night and DVR'ed the game.
I take full responsibility for the last two losses.
My DVR record this season is now
0-3.
At least the Monsters beat Hershey (who had a huge booster club following btw).
Baby Pens are here for their only meeting of the season against the Monsters on March 7th.
