I guess AcidQueen is too busy thinking up ways in which the Hurricanes don't make the playoffs, bitch.

Ned Ryerson said...

she's too busy eating her family out of house and home.

Johnny Wrath said...

Its hard to get to your mailbox when there's a Kawasaki stuck in your ass?

Anonymous said...

Jesus lines that finally make sense. No way Sykora should ever be on the third.

b

GO PENS!

Mike Georger said...

beech is the farva of this team at the moment. unless someone gets arrested or suspended he shouldnt be playing

Nathan said...

I've been asked to mention that gamedaychat.com still exists, and as many of you as possible should try to come over there during tonight's game. It's really very enjoyable when there are a bunch of people in there.

Let's do this shit!

Ashley said...

I tried signing up for the Centre Ice free preview and they wouldn't let me. :(

Guess I'll just have to keep watching Toronto and Ottawa and wait until Monday to see the Pens play.

Hip said...

gah
just fucking brutal having no coverage/life

Go Pens.

I think Malkin might be playing drunk out there.

I wonder what the difference is withe Geno's "PP stick". Maybe a little more curved? I haven't seen an equipment tactic like that since Adam Deadmarsh back with LA, where he used a really open-faced stick to deflect the puck up at like a 70º angle, but wasn't good for anything else.

He's got to find a blade pattern that allows him to not look like a turnover specialist? Lol.

How is Cole still in the game after his jersey slid off like (insert pop star joke here)?

Someone needs to get a pic of Sid and Mario and make the caption "turning water into wine" haha

NHL Center Ice .... $150,

My trip to Vegas that caused hubby to get bored enough at home to buy center ice .... $500,

Flipping between Pens, Devils & Flyers games tonight and catching Ducks' Parros connect a mean uppercut and put Cote on his ass, in HD,..... Priceless.

Flyer Hater said...

Get dominated by Lehtonen on Wednesday and Ward tonight. Two marginal goaltenders at best and they both have looked like Patrick Roy against us. I can't wait to lose 1-0 tonight, barf.

Mike Georger said...

noone should EVER be allowed to suggest the PP is better without sid

Flyer Hater said...

We heard so much freaking hype about Peter Sykora coming into the season. He was supposed to be the next Lee Harvey Oswald with his sniping ability. He's a waste of a uniform most nights.

pops said...

did steigy just say, "...find a way of penetrating cam ward?"

yikes.

Mike Georger said...

inexcusable no goal call on the ice, that was two inches over the line. what a joke, i had a feeling we were going to get fucked on the review somehow, thank god i was wrong

pops said...

yea. same here. you have to be absolutely retarded not to see that puck go in. both the ref and the goal judge are joke. JOKES!.

when they were taking forever to call that up, i thought they'd fuck us over too.

Bradley said...

"oh Geno, yer Malkin' me crazy...." - the Old Two-Niner

Hip said...

flyer hater - glad you can call yourself out.

orgasmblog = checking the final score and seeing what must have been a sick third pd.
unreal.

pops said...

SYYYYYYKO! I really like Sykora. He gets jobbed by Therrien with all this 3rd line crap, but he still finds the way to score.

AND

He always looks happy to be playing for the Pens.

seeker said...

The goal judges are irrelevent nowadays...many rinks don't even have them anymore.

I knew that was a goal but was worried it might be a high-stick.

The Christensen goal certainly transformed this team didn't it!?

Can anyone help me here? I missed the 'key word of the game' for the Watch -n- Win contest.

pops said...

intermission is the key word. cheers.

Anonymous said...

I thought I saw last summer that there was no longer a goal judge at the mellon arena

staal #5 said...

big win. lets go pens!! also, flyers are jokes.

I think Acid Queen traveled to Da Burgh for tonight's game...

I could've sworn it was she that required the paramedics to use the Jaws of Life to free her from the revolving door at the Marriot!

seeker said...

Thanks Pops!

hard fought and well deserved win
bring on jersey again

Grreat Game. Geno's Goal was sick.

I heard MAF's gonna be back in 2-4 weeks? anyone else hear

Karl Hungus said...

Anyone else think Christensen has upped his game since the injury?

He looks confident out there...

Anonymous said...

flyer hater,

nice. you made up for the douche comments by calling yourself out.

p.s. malkin was drunk

Nathan said...

Malkin may have been drunk in the first period, but he definitely dropped acid for the third. Killer goal from him tonight.

wilsmith said...

hopefully he gets a 72 hour trip out of that acid.

Before the game, I was flipping around the Center Ice feeds, and this clip has changed my life.

Unfortunately, I can't find a direct video link.

Jonny V said...

Pops, Steigy and Bourque have been killing all season with their Tobias Bluthe-ian play calling. I love games that start slow and just avalanche in the third period. Makes getting drunk a much more enjoyable experience.

And I don't know how many of yinz out there are fans of one of the best sitcoms ever, but it seems there is going to be an Arrested Development movie:

To seeker: Jaws of life not necessary to extricate her from revolving door at hotel. However necessary to extricate Kawasaki from between enormous cheeks of her God almighty awful ASS. I am so scared I will run into her at Pens game I am considering Removing my sac and placing it in a safety deposit box to pro tect it from her cellulite proliferatin ASS.

Mike Georger said...

an AD movie? man, i just blue myself

Jazzhall said...

Watching ESPNNews, Parros owned Philly's Cote in a fight today. Look out for a youtube on it, I haven't seen one yet, the uppercut is great.

I had to babysit tonight (yes, I'm a loser) but I caught the 3rd.

Baby-puke on your shirt and piss on your hands is good luck.

Eric K said...

the "Taalbensen" line was sick tonight. and where would we be if the Ryan Malone of last season was still here...most likely out of the top 8.

Flyer Hater said...

I heard Grover say on the Pens hotline show after the game that the refs weren't even going to review the Malone goal. The Penguins video judge had to alert them to that fact. Mr. Magoo strikes again, get a helmet assface the 80s are over.

Thanks for giving me a pass on the douchey comments.

*I said Cam Ward would get the shutout, we scored 4 in one period

*I said Sykora sucked, he scored in the third.

Hey everyone, we're going to lose to the Devils by 6 and Brodeur will get the shutout!!

Thoughts, dudes...

1. JOHNNY WRATH - In regards to your posts from the previous commentorblog, keep 'em coming, dude. As someone who has the tendency to get "longwinded" myself with some of my comments, I don't mind at all because at the very least, it lengthens my breaktime when I'm reading up on the blog while I'm at work. And anyone who refers to themself as "Gentleman of Leisure" is OK in my book.

2. Arena was a damn fun place to be for the third period. Hip refered to it as "orgasmblog". That's awesome and pretty much accurate.

3. Kudos to the Canes fan sitting behind us at the game (we were in Row K of Section D23...almost all the way at the top). Extremely cool guy, even as his team collapsed in the third period. You represent your team very well, sir.

4. Kris Beech, #24 in your program, #1 in your hearts, healthy scratch.

5. Jordan Staal was absolutely flying tonight.

6. Whitney had a bad game. Dude needs to start making better decisions with the puck, and he needs to start making better reads on when to make a play on the puck. He got caught like three or four times tonight pinching because he misread loose pucks.

7. Christensen took either a wicked slash or a wicked spear about three seconds before he scored. He doubled over for a split-second, channeled his inner Roberts, said "F this bullshit" and rifled one past Ward to get the ball rolling. Gutsy play by him, and Mellon responded accordingly.

Managed to secure a parking pass tonight for the East Lot.

Myself and the lovely Nancy Stoosh stayed all the way to the end of the game and then after perusing some souvenir stands, we headed out to the Stooshmobile to head home. We were sitting in the parking lot heading out of the north side of the arena (the side that doesn't exit onto Centre Ave), and we were stuck there for the better part of 20-30 minutes. No biggie.

We get up to the exit when I see a svelte gentleman in an overcoat walking from the arena directly in front of the Stooshmobile while we were stopped. A quick glance reveals it to be none other than...

Danny Potash

He, of course, proceeds to his car, but not before he acknowledges with a wave AND a very pronounced finger-point.

Capped off the night.

But I wonder...was it the Stooshes realizing we were in the presence of the greatness that is The Potash, or was it Danny Potash simply acknowledging the same, thus bringing about the finger point?

Stoosh said...

CANESFAN - Go sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here.

Tool.

Flyer Hater said...

LOL@ CanesFan, didn't this joke post the same thing last night? Nice 4 goal collapse in the third period. Daytona 500 is in a few weeks, go buy some buckets of fried chicken and grain alcohol to prepare. It's a shame you even have a team, long live the whale!

Canesfan is right. He owns my ass.

Great night all around. Even caught a hat from a delta dental pens patrol-guy in the 3rd period. Gave it to my wife when I got home (hope that earns some bonus points down the line)
@stoosh
arena was fun, for the 3rd period....the crowd seemed kinda on edge & restless thru 2 periods...esp. during that 4 minute PP when I think the pens registered negative SOG....(at least the rowdies up in E18 seemed to get more & more perturbed as the game moved thru the 1st 2 periods)
Then Crusher broke the seal & after the puck had enough Moe to cross the line for goal #2...it seemed the Canes spirit was broken.
Anyone else notice that Army seemed to kinda reinjure himself again?...it looked like he got hurt when he was checked into the boards near the penalty box & didn't have his same 'jump' the 2nd 1/2 of the 3rd period....hope it's nothing serious....
I had my binocs on Danny Potash on the pens bench during warmups & he seemed to be giving Death Stares to the Canes during warmups....he was 3 feet from Bibs already stationed in his 'box' & they didn't speak a word to each other....they both were probably getting their game faces ON

Gordy Howitzer said...

Doc Turkleton, where in E18 were ya?

Has Ron Cook ever watched a hockey game in his life? I'm sorry that he has a love affair with MAF.

I agree that the idea of trading MAF is ludicrous. But the fact of the matter is, goaltending is not about talent. It's about handling the puck and stopping the puck from going into the net. Conklin has consistently done both, and as long as he does, he'll keep the job that he deserves.

Jonny V said...

I second the Johnny Wrath long-windedness. And Stoosh's. Yinz def. have a way with words.
