The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward David Gove from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Joe Jensen, it was announced Thursday by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.
Gove has played 45 games this season scoring 23 points (8+15) for the Albany River Rats, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes. He made his NHL debut with the Hurricanes during the 2005-06 season recording an assist in one game played for the club. Gove also appeared in one game for Carolina during the 2006-07 season. He has played parts of seven seasons in the AHL scoring 198 points (80+118) in 393 games. Gove will report to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).
Jensen was originally selected by the Penguins in the eighth round (232nd overall) of the 2003 NHL Draft. He recorded four points (2+2) in 27 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.
