Did anyone else catch the crowd booing when they introduced Bettman?

Good stuff this weekend. Had Friday off. Got new hockey skates...now I just need to lose weight and get into decent game shape so I don't kill myself.

Enjoyed the Skills Competition. And I admittedly saw very, very little of the All-Star Game.

And hey, did you guys here DiPietro dropped an F-bomb during the Skills Competition? Didya, didya, didya? Huh?

Just kidding...

(Was it just me, or where there about 50 separate posts about that on c-blog Saturday night and Sunday morning?)

S'okay. It's the All Star Break... you deserve a break too. :)

of course the crowd booed bettman. everyone boos the comish of any given league.

did any one catch the crowd boing chris osgood? i guess they do it to rattle goalies. i guess it worked.

i love seeing kovalchuk getting denied. that was great. if dipietro saw that, he'd probly say holy f***.

oh wait. he dropped that earlier.

overall, nothing vitally important happened, so i didnt expect an 'important' post

Stoosh, C-blog has taken somewhat of a middle-school vibe lately in the past weeks, hence my lack of posts. There are a good number of posters on here that make commentorblog worth reading, and a sincere thanks to those (stoosh, stokes, loserchris, wilsmith, fleury29, wingergirl, firefox, adrienne, ladyjaye and i'm sure i've missed a few) that along with the staff make this place a must-read every day.

The ASG "half-time" show was just weird.

Yep. DiPietro dropped 5 f-bombs, at least that were clearly audible. I'm sure there were many more, as he's such a charming guy with a broad vocabulary. Besides, I give the benefit of doubt to anyone who comes from a classy organization like the Islanders™.

I'm kinda in Bettman's corner since he stepped in and made sure the Arena deal went through, but I still think he's terrible for the league in general. See: Ne-Yo.

I hope Staal will let Rick Nash know how his car is running. Speaking of cars, how about Nash cruising in with the open-the-garage-door move while DiPietro was trying to converse with Edzo.

Without getting into the debate of whether or not he should get suspended (because we've hashed that out in commentorblog ealier) is there any word on Laraque and his hit on Downie? Has the league made any comment about it?

AHL skills comp on FSN currently....the AHL All-Star game on FSN tonight at 700p for those who need their hockey fix....Alex Goligoski is the only Pens prospect rep playing for the Planet/USA squad v. Team Canada

when Legace was in goal, did you hear him say "bring interest back into the game," in reference to Bettman? Shortly after, you heard him say "is the commissioner out of office yet?"

Thanks Turk. I didn't know what I was gonna be watching tonight. Thought I might have had to sopcast a euro game, but I keep forgetting about that stupid 6 hour differential. By the looks of it, Lulea vs Modo and Timra vs Sodertalje are on Sopcast right now.

If you wanna talk f bombs on TV, check this one out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl-4FSRYagc

"You're here for one GD specific reason: to fuck us!", and he lets it be known several times.

I hate Fila jumpsuits and Axe Body Spray¹, hence I hate New Jersey. I'll never forgive them for letting The Rangers reach the finals in '94.

We've only dropped both points in 2 games this month, and I hope we can turn that kind of consistency into a stronger division record. Moreover, I hope we can manage to shove Marty's incomplete-Devils logo'd mask up his ass. Go Pens.

If you're a Devils fan checking out our fine community, understand that your State is Pennsylvania's moldy, unfinished basement. You should listen this time when environmental groups suggest investing in a dehumidifier to combat that strong mildew smell, as they have been doing since 1832.

Loved when they were interviewing that little elf bettman. The conversation between him and Legace was so awkward.

BlogStaff'ers: The caption under the 'Team Russia' photo should read: "Gonch and Geno Machine-o dominating, Kovalchuk blows photo op." If Kovalchuk were a geometric shape, he would be a line, as one dimensional as they come. Perhaps if he were getting set up for a one timer from point he would have put forth better effort. He has no idea where the camera is.

All is well, jonny v is back.
No more need to panic.

I watched, and enjoyed, the Skills Comp, but i guess i wasn't watching close enough, because i never noticed Ricky D. drop one F bomb. Honestly, i don't know what the big deal is about that either. is it that he said it, or that he said it on TV? i mean, these guys aren't angels. read Sid's lips once in a while....

I watched the ASG also and found it enjoyable. The second period was kind of slow, but when things actually got close and tight, the game seemed to pick up. There was a hint of (somewhat) real hockey being played.

Nash's goals were sick. I could have gone either way with the MVP thing. On second thought, i could have cared less who got it.

Malkin seems to have decent games against the Devils. Winning tomorrow would be ideal.

word jonnyv.

Bring on real hockey. Enough with the stupifying stars already. Get on with it. Hope we run over New Jersey like a bus going over a patch of Jimmy Hoffa in a concrete highway. Go Pens!

And while we are at it bring on spring. Enough already with black hole dark mornings, enough I say!

*sniff sniff* Thanks Jonny V, I love you man! :P

Bettman getting booed...nothing new there. He deserves is for some of the crap he has done. The most recent being the extension of the contract on Verses. Come on man, get ESPN back in the game. But he gets booed everytime he presents the Stanley Cup. I remember someone suggesting a while ago(might have been PensBlog) having a former Stanley Cup winner (currently restired) present the cup as a representative to the sport and leave Bettman in his box seats. How awesome would it be to see the likes of Mario, Gordie Howe or Wayne Gretzky doing that?

On the Kris Beech thing, I think my previous comments were a bit overstated. I understand why they picked him up, we have injuries and a lot of them. He is just a rental, no big deal.

But someone did point out that Beech has better statistics this year than Christensen. Someone else also rumored that Columbus has interest in Christensen. We all know what rumors get you but still, it might not be a bad idea to trade him if they can fill some gaps where we need help. He is one player I really wouldn't mind seeing go.

Interesting move bringing up Nas. I just hope it isn't because of injury. 3 of the next 4 games are on the road. It might just be for having backups readily available. I would be suprised to see any of our D-men get traded unless we got D-men back in the trade. None of them have played Melichar-like this year so I can't see letting them go without replacements.

JONNY V - Thanks, dude. I appreciate it. I've said before I like this place because it's a place to come where we can cut through all the BS associated with mainstream media outlets and just be fans. I don't want to be shouted down because someone doesn't agree with my analysis (for instance, that's why I liked when the staff criticized the Beech signing simply because they don't like Kris Beech.).

JOHNNY WRATH - I'll never forgive the Devils for letting the Rangers reach the Cup Finals in 1994 either. My favorite team back then was the Canucks. Game Seven of the Cup Finals that year was probably the first time I ever had my heart truly broken as a sports fan...I stared at the TV for three hours after that game ended and I don't think I moved once.
