Wow... a low of 19 and a high of 35 in Buffalo today. That's cold as balls? You're at least getting above freezing.
In Kansas it's a low of 9 and a high of 24. Right now it's 18 degrees.
Man up, Pensblog staff.
I used to live around there you know it's cold when your nose hairs and snot freeze rock hard in your nose. Real pretty.
It's as cold as ball here today as well. Three as's in one sentence, what an accomplishment.
Can you post a hi-res picture of the team at center ice? That's a great picture!
You dared...now what???
Penguins switch time for Saturday game
The Penguins game against the Florida Panthers at Mellon Arena on Saturday has been moved to 3 p.m.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at 7:30 p.m. Team officials sought permission to push the game to an earlier start to accommodate fans that might also wish to attend the Steelers' AFC wild-card playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Heinz Field at 8 p.m., Saturday.
NBC is garbage...its 12:40 and no pregame yet?? Oh and im sure everyone at home has heard, but for those up in NY, the Pens game on Saturday was moved to 3:00, so as to not interfere with everyone witnessing the Jags beat the Stillers.
Go Pens
great game after a period so far

then when you find a photo, switch _lower.jpg with _1024x768.jpg
They usually get their game images from Yahoo. Here's the link. And while i was looking for that, I found this interesting pic.
did anybody else hear on the telecast that gary roberts could be back in 10 days?
bullshit penalty going into overtime
What. A. Win. Sorry for yinz that had to freeze your tookus's off, but that was the only way for that game to end. Shootout city.
Now go thaw out and celebrate.
wahoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
gary bettman just jizzed in his pants.
conkblockage kept the penguins in the game and crosby won it.
doesn't get better than that.
FUCK YES!!!!
PENGUINS!!!!!!!!
What an amazing game. Nothing better then 4.5 hours of hockey as a way to start the new year.
I'm just sad Christensen didn't put it in in the SO :( But to compensate, Letang was outstanding.
what an effin game. extremely jealous to those who witnessed it live. although the closest seats were far away from the rink (compared to a normal game where you're up against the glass) so that kinda sucked!
crosby is amazing. letang is just sick.
What a game, what a player.
What a game!!
wow Fleury29, GOOD FOR YOU, being TOUGH and being COLD, idiot, wind factor, snow, and temperature,it is cold. get over yourself.
Anyway, that game was amazing, can't wait for your update
I hate Emrick.
The game was in Buffalo, not Boston.
It's Geno, not Jean.
The sponsor is Amp, not A-M-P.
There cannot be offsides when the lead-man dumps the puck in from the redline. Watch the play and you will know a penalty is being called.
Overreacts for the slightest display of offense, probably a side-effect of working for the Devils for so long.
Probably the most annoying voice in the world, also.
Bring back Thorne/Clement/Panger.
What a game... Colby had tons of TV time as well. I am very impressed with Conkblock. I was a little unsure when he first took over for Sabu in the fuckfest that was against philly. My wife and I went from calling Conk "farm fresh" to being totally impressed with him.
That was awesome.
Winter Classic = Booooorrrring... Really, if I wanted to wait five minutes after each stoppage in play, I'd watch football.
The game was in Buffalo, not Boston. Wil, I can't agree more
How about this jobber

conklin looked good - go pens!
Did they not play the national anthem?
Every time Conklin made a big save I shouted Conk-block. The people I was watching the game with thought I was nuts... but by the time the shootout rolled around, they were yelling it too.
Thank you pensblog for adding to my game day vernacular.
Wow, amc, blow me, I was just giving the Pensblog staff some friendly shit. I wasn't serious... idiot.
And you're right, we don't know anything about wind chill factor or snow in Kansas.
Anyhoo... can't believe the B.S. no call on Crosby when he got hooked, it should have been a penalty shot or at least a power play but whatev.
Having The Blizzard of Cros with the goal to win it in the shootout was awesome and, as jim said, I'm sure Bettman needed new shorts after that.
Anyone know what the ratings were? I'm sure every bowl game from the Rose Bowl to the Douche Bowl got better ratings but I'd still be interested to see.
Conker the Squirrel with huge balls rocking the 2-pad stack. That was entertaining to see. What a game by him though. What was it, 36 saves, plus 2 clutch SO saves? money.
I'm also officially starting the Colby for flashbar campaign.
What a surreal scene. 71,000 crazy screaming, chanting hockey fanatics getting slush on their balls/asses. Big juicy snowflakes floating in the air. Sid and company sayingfu to the refs who let everthing go until some Sabre falls lamely with two seconds to go. Unreal.
Sid(Bing) stabs Miller with a fatal goal sending us leaping and slapping hands as is we won the cup.
I want more of this stuff! And God do I love Letang. He makes those shootout goals look as easy as a sorority pledge after a sixpack!
agreed with wilsmith 100%.

good thing Bing doesn't read this blog. you all would've had him trying to shoot high instead of going 5-hole again. that's why he's the wizard of cros.
What a fantastic experience. Let's do it again. It was totally surreal. You're watching your team, in uniforms that aren't what you're used to, in a venue that's not even made for hockey. You are watching the game, but the closest anyone is sitting is atleast is 40 yards away. It snowing. And watching the actual play live is almost indescribable. Atleast i'm not gonna try.
I'll save the jobbing for tomorrow, but this part sucked: left the parking lot at 5:15. FInally stopped at Angola at 6:00. left at 6:30. Stopped at sheetz in EDINBORO(sp) at 9:00. pulled in the drive in USC at 11:30. that sucked. 10 cars we counted slid of the road. hope that everyone else made it home ok.
no they didnt play the national anthem dennis....just o canada and god bless america for some reason....
