The logo is huge.
But it's worth it because the pigeon is gone.

HUGE numbers.

You're gonna feel like an oaf wearing this jersey anywhere.
The logo patch looks like it weighs 4 pounds.

Speaking of patches:

Uniforms are good. Drop the puck.

Love the sleeves.

Logo and number size is borderline ridiculous.

Whatever. Let's play some hockey.

Thank god they left the jerseys relatively alone. I'd hate to think of what would happen if they went the 'yellow' route again...they'd probably end up looking like the Islanders, and that is a terrible terrible thought.

A week and a half till preseason!

Marc, the day the Pirates are on the Pens jerseys is the day Gary Roberts destroys the world.

I wish the main logo was a little lower, and the gay NHL thing was gone. Hockey is not the NFL, but overall I'm liking them.

So for the patch any ideas?? This is my best guess. (just the yellow part and the crest with rounded edges). I would have cropped it and shared but photobucket is being dumb.

the patch is for 250 years since pittsburgh was founded.

very plain...why don't they have fifteen different effects on them like the clustereffs that are the Cannucks uniforms... As for the gigundous logo, it makes me think of what superman's hockey jersey would look like if he had a hockey jersey, 'cept with a Penguin instead of an S... and cept without a cape... and tigh...
aww hell,
GARY ROBERTS RULES!

Las Vegas Gold sucks ass.

On the plus side, it goes with khakis around the office.

Did Brooks lose some weight>

I used to hate the Vegas gold but now i'm coming around to liking it. Again just a solid design. I'm j ust really glad we don't clusterfuck our jerseys up with 85 different designs.

Last year's jerseys were subtle; these just suck. AND COULD THE LOGO BE ANY BIGGGGGGEERRRRRR?????Just hope RBK doesn't "improve" the Steelers uniforms. A good team still in search of an identity; put THAT on your commemorative patch.

nice pic of the patch.

Like the new jerseys, don't care for the Pgh 250 patch. I guess the 40th anniversary patch isn't happening this year.

Loved when Larry Richert noticed Fedko in the media section, and someone in the back yelled Gary Roberts.

Pretty soon the jerseys are going to be black and white.

I wish they didn't put gold under the arms, but as a horizontal bar all the way around it, like in the glory years.

Plenty of jerseys are worse than these, but they didn't exactly hit one out of the park either.

[said like Joey from Friends] Gold...good. Patch...good. Penguin...GOOD.

Haha it's possible that Brooks lost a few & his hair looks a bit shorter also.

Hearing "It's a hockey night...in Pittsburgh!!" is just around the corner...
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the guy in the back that yelled gary roberts was my boyfriend, glad someone knew since a lot of people around us looked at him funny!

These definitely aren't the greatest jerseys ever, but when you put them in the context of the other new jerseys being trotted out by Reebok I think we definitely made out okay. It could have been a lot worse. Just ask Islander/Predator/Panther fans. To name a few.

haha i wish we had the video of that.

I think they did a nice job. Nice and simple...nothing too overstated. Not crazy about the stripe that comes up the side and under the arm a bit, but I can certainly live with it (and Reebok says I don't have a choice now anyway). Numbers on the back look huge, but I like the way it all came together.

That's easily a triple-quality jersey there.

Adrienne said...

For once I don't know wtf you people are thinking; the new uniforms suck ass. Honestly, there is NO god with the new Reebok jerseys. They're not deathly awful, but they're not great either...

I'm also a good bit pissed off that the patch is for the 250 years of Pittsburgh. The city that made NO effort to fight to keep the team. It should be in commemoration of the last 40 years, as a huge accomplishment that the bloody team is STILL here.

Fuck.

Spencemo said...

I kind of like them, but I will probably now refer to them as "the jerseys for the visually impaired".

Korn said...

I like the jerseys, definitely could have been worse.

But WTF with the big logo? You're telling me that's not going to bother the players? Seems like it has the potential to get in the way alot.

Barrasso35 said...

The old jerseys were better but I must say, they didn't fuck the new jerseys up too badly. I still like these better than the pajama jerseys from the 1990s.

I like the huge-moungous logo and I think mine is going to look nice with ROBERTS on the back.
