The Mystery at MSG

Game Four.
Under a minute to play.
Buffalo down 2 - 1.
Goalie pulled.
Rangers trying to even the series.
MSG is in a frenzy.
Briere wrap-around chance.

Refs go to the War Room in Toronto.......

They are too busy watching the final moments of Toronto vs. New Jersey.

No goal

Wow. Just a stunning situation.
Things started out innocently enough on a rainy Pittsburgh Tuesday night.
Jaromir Jagr continues to carry the Rangers.
In vintage Jagr fashion, he beat Ryan Miller to put the Rangers up 1 - 0.
The second period was a joke.
In the third, Brendan Shannan stunned Sabre Nation by making it 2 - 0.

Shanahan, something is wrong with your face.
He can't hear us. He's too busy still playing hockey this season.

But the Sabres turn it on.
Some guy scores.
2 - 1.
That's when things blow up.
With Madison Square Garden completely insane, the Rangers make two critical mistakes:

Sean Avery shoots for the empty net -- Icing.
Bubby Isbrister tries to dump a puck in -- Icing.

Buffalo wins the faceoff.
Briere with the chance.

The video will be reviewed more times than the Zapruder film in Buffalo.

It looks like a goal, but can anyone be sure?
If we ran Sabresblog, we would already be on our way to New York.

The biggest Game Five of the playoffs:
Friday in Buffalo.

This jobber runs some blog for a Hawaii newspaper.
He got votes taken away from him on the Bloggers voting thing...most likely for cheating and running up his vote count.

This had to be mentioned because these are the dog days of summer and we've been jobbing people on the internet since we registered our first instant-messenger screen name.

Stephen Tsai, you're a joke.

Nice Bubby Brister reference.

If Gary Roberts doesn't win the Vezina, I'm calling Shenanigans.

That Ranger game was pretty awesome last night, and as much as I hate to say it Jags is on fire. He's playing better than I've ever seen him play I think... I think the Rangers just may be able to pull this off.

PS I still hate the Versus announcers.

im lookin for roberts to sweep the awards....bubby isbrister was nice and would make a great photoshop

loralei, i agree that the vs announcers suck. especially that bum who consistantly refers to the power play as the 'man power advantage'

Why exactly don't we want Gomez? Seems like a solid player to me - is this just Devil hating?

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until he signs (wherever that may be) we should get Drury.

Signing Gomez doesn't make a lot of sense considering how crowded we are already at center.

I just hope Jeff Beukeboom comes out of retirement so we can pick him up. I could give a shit how good he'd still be...just look at that name...so money.

I vote for Hakan Loob as possibly the funniest name not only associated with hockey, but that I have ever heard.... and Dick Butkus is hard to beat
