Survivor: Hill District

...This post would have come sooner, but I passed out for 50 minutes after going through the roller-coaster ride of the last Heroes episode until January 22...

...Mark Madden speculated on his radio show Monday that Coach Michel Therrien may be voted off Hill District Island if he doesn't bring home a victory on Tuesday vs. Florida.
...Pens Message Board Nation has been going nuts all day, and the most frequent name we've heard in terms of a replacement would be Andy Murray.

The last I heard, Andy Murray was dancing to Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" in some nightclub.

...If you're a Penguins fan, and you consider this blog as your top news source, you are a sad individual. Unless you've been dancing to Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" all day, you already know that Noah Welch was sent down to Wilkes-Barre.
The Pens called up Alain Nasreddine and Micki DuPont.

...No word on anyone claiming John LeClair today...

...NHL.com does a little story about the Atlantic Division. Pensblog did an Atlantic Division review on Sunday night. Coincidence? I think not...

...TSN.ca previewing Sidney-Ovechkin on December 11...

...Pensblog had a little hiccup in the Playoffs Goals tapes...They're coming, though...

Kind of surprised that Therrien would be fired so quickly. It's not like he came into an Anaheim or Buffalo situation where you know there's an excellent team ready to make the playoffs. The Pens are still a very young and very inexperienced team. 11-10-4 is a VAST improvement over last year and in my opinion it's way too early to consider canning old Michel. If we were to grab a solid d-man or 2 and a proven goal scoring winger and still struggle, then i may think about agreeing. But until then, I'm sticking by Therrien

Andy Murray?

Actually, I think that this is the perfect time to get rid of Therrien and hire someone new. It's early enough that a new coach can make a real difference, but late enough that the Pens have already established some sort of chemistry.

Therrien has been known as a career 'bridge' coach. He does well when he is in the midst of a transition from coach to coach...so this isn't really surprising. Plus, RS has never really been happy with him as coach.

...Part of me kinda wants to admit that the pens should throw the game tomorrow to get a new coach. It's only a small part though.
